I'm no expert on what the law is about lying by House Reps but based on my memory of Schiff's statements during the Biden Administration's tenure, most if not all his claims about Russia Gate and other topics concerning DJT were bogues lies. It does appear an indictment is warranted.

Completely agree... of all the people who need to be indicted, I've never seen such irresponsible politicization of things. Lying about the things he knows, suggesting that it's classified and that's why he can't share it. It's insane. People like him are very lucky that they don't have to take a polygraph or go through a background investigation... because he would undoubtedly fail.

Sadly, this is much ado about nothing, merely a 'he said, she said' situation in the end. For the one whistleblower who would testify to what Schiff 'told them to do,' Democrats would produce many more witnesses who would refute the claim. There's no way Schiff would have written anything down, which would have been significant evidence.
About Schiff's continual lying to the American people, there is no law against that. Even though he repeatedly claimed, in public, to have 'irrefutable evidence' of collusion with Russia, when put behind closed doors, under oath, he admitted he did NOT have any such evidence. If he had lied under oath he could be indicted, but not for 'just' lying to The People. (I could be wrong about the closed-door meeting taking place and am too lazy to try looking it up right now. )

There's more to it than that... he's also leaked information, and then intentionally misrepresented it. I think if I cared enough, I'd look up the laws, but since I don't work for the DOJ, nor am I a prosecutor, I just don't have the time to look it up, or the desire to. I know that lying in public isn't illegal, but giving "false testimony" in a governing body or court of law (like congressional hearings, etc.) is illegal. I'll look into it, but I definitely don't think he's skating away from this.

This is something that uniquely pisses me off. When I worked for the government, I had to move every 3 years. Because I had to move quickly, I was never legally allowed to claim that the home I would be moving into was my primary residence. That's because I technically still owned a home (which we were living in) that was actually our primary residence. I'd buy another home, move into it, and then sell the home I left (usually a month after the fact). This resulted in me never being able to legally transfer primary residency while applying for a mortgage.
What this meant was that my interest rate was always higher than it needed to be. My credit was always decent, so it wasn't horrible, but I could never get the amazing interest rates that others got. So, because I didn't cheat and lie, I was punished.
For example, I have two homes right now. One I've owned since 2003 which is a rental. I refinanced it years ago, and had to refinance it as a rental. The home I'm living in now in Tampa is also not considered a primary residence. That's because we were still living in the home in Texas when I bought it. I moved to the Tampa home first, and the family joined me when the school year was up 3 months later. So I got screwed every time. Of course, I can homestead only the Tampa home (which I'm doing), but I also couldn't pass the tax benefits of homesteading because I moved from one state to another (which is another thing that these politicians were able to get away with).
I hope ALL of them, every single one of them gets nailed for this. It's frustrating when someone like myself does the right thing, and specifically within the letter of the law, EVEN when I actually SHOULD be getting the benefit... but don't... and yet you have these Democrat politicians who are all guilty of this very thing that I was honest about. It pisses me off...

I would suggest it's no different that many of us passing on information about good deals we come across. Except, they pass on ways to take advantage and they don't think they'll get caught cheating, they believe they are above the laws that we have to follow. Won't surprise me if there is a lot of this on both sides of the aisle.

Why all the prosecutions for this? Other than the fact that lots of people seemed to be doing it, and - up until now - getting away with it, it seems to be fairly easy to prove. I mean, it's all right there in black and white, if you know where to look.
