At the same time, the Canadian economy has been stagnant for years, and has for the first time in decades fallen behind the U.S. Canadian law has this as a grey area since it is not illegal to be a prostitute but it is illegal to purchase such services. This leads to the situation where young people starting out in life working full time cannot afford to pay their rent. There are landlords openly listing rentals for "friends with benefits" or sexual favors on a schedule.

Besides, it's misleading when they say that homes are over a million dollars. That's Canadian dollars which converts to like $715k for a home, not a million dollars. That's pretty standard for a decent 3/2 in nice suburbs of a popular city. I'm sure a 30 minute drive into the city could stave off having to share your beaver in a petting zoo.

No idea on this, apparently, it's a situation where both parties are getting what they want out of it. Is this a reflection of the Canadian economy or just it's social values. Maybe both, I'm not there so, can't say. My question is, are the ladies allowed their own company by the landlords? I specifically remember being told by my dad that as long as I was living under his roof, his rules were going to be followed.
