So we're in agreement then that the current US administration is a complete joke. Right on!

Joe, my "brain function" is just fine, thanks. Unlike some participants in this thread, I understand that what we say in P&R doesn't amount to a hill of beans. What I say about Trump has no bearing on his actions, and what some of you may say about me in return, has no bearing on my actions. It's all a colossal waste of time, and I often chastise myself for bothering to indulge. However, my participation in P&R seems to be a catalyst for discussion (using that term very loosely), so I'll continue to contribute here (at least for awhile) to help brighten your lives. Hey, you're welcome!

I've been absent a while, it's been nice to not participate in a time waster.

It is on purpose. Normal people try to understand the meaning of what other people say in order to engage with them. I do not agree with what Ray or other members post but I at least give him the courtesy of trying to understand his posts. Patrick purposefully chooses to misinterpret what other people mean. Hypocritically he gets very upset when someone does that to him but has no hesitation doing it to anyone else. It is a strange way to evade opposing views and it is a dishonest tactic which is a variation of creating a strawman.

It appears that some of you guys simply can't handle any levity. It's so obvious in that particular incidence, that I was just having some fun.

I guess it disappoints some of you that I don't get bent all out of shape from "discussions" in P&R. Sorry, but attempts at character assassination here only make the provocateur look desperate.

I criticize Trump, and a number of you then criticize me. I don't believe that's how this political forum is supposed to work... but hey, if you think it makes you look good, be my guest. It's not going to stop me from expressing my opinion.

Thank goodness, the Nobel Peace Prize went to someone genuinely deserving of it.

This is the part that bothered me...

"[Trump]...who has publicly lobbied for the prize for himself."

At no point has Trump "publicly lobbied" for the Nobel Peace price. He's made comments about it, but he never would have mentioned it had it not been something that people were saying in his sphere of influence. Lots of people have said he should have gotten it in his last term, and people say he should get it now. But to suggest that Trump has sternly focused the attention of the news media and directly made arguments to try to persuade the committee that he is deserving of it, is completely different from reality. He's made fun of the committee, talked about how it's a garbage token, and how he should get it but they suck, blah blah. That could hardly be construed as him "lobbying" for it.

I think the winner of the prize this year is very deserving of the honor. The committee made a good choice.

And she accepted it in honor of President Donald J Trump.

Yes... and... and...

From your own link.

The claim is true; however, Machado didn't dedicate her prize to Trump alone.

On Oct. 10, after the Nobel Foundation announced it was awarding Machado the prize, she posted to X that the recognition was a boost to completing her nation's task of "conquering freedom." She ended the post by dedicating the prize to the suffering people of Venezuela and to Trump. The full post was as follows:

"This recognition of the struggle of all Venezuelans is a boost to conclude our task: to conquer Freedom.

We are on the threshold of victory and today, more than ever, we count on President Trump, the people of the United States, the peoples of Latin America, and the democratic nations of the world as our principal allies to achieve Freedom and democracy.

I dedicate this prize to the suffering people of Venezuela and to President Trump for his decisive support of our cause!"

And as mentioned previously, she's well aware that he's a sucker for flattery. Perhaps including Trump among others in her dedication will help pay dividends down the road. Hey, it's worth a shot!

The blatant BS of losers, always with the BS, like they extrude it out of their mouths.
' Everything they touch, turns to sheet ! ' ~ President D.J.Trump '24
The Dempartie_Nazi_Hamas_Communists rejected by the people for sixty years, forever, never again trusted with power.
' They're so full of sheet, you just can't trust them, like, doped zombies needing more money, more drugs, like '
' Yeah ! Punt them the hail offshore ! '
Imagine the ratings of the Kimmel Show, direct from Havana !
