First, I want to say... I've had multiple discussions with you guys, that especially includes you BDubs, where you told me that everything I was saying was wrong. Specifically, you were adamant that illegals were not getting social security benefits, and that they weren't getting MediCaid or food stamps, or any of those things.
This spans a little over 2 years ago. I was in the process of getting my law degree, so I was interested in this stuff, and looked it up. As I stated, and as I linked to... the illegals that were coming over were being classified as asylum seekers, and were immediately given refugee benefits, even though there is ABSOLUTELY NO SUCH THING as an "economic refugee." This is clearly defined in by law, and stated on nearly all government websites related to the topic. Regardless... they were given court cases that were anywhere from 3-10 years out, knowing full well that the judges would not grant asylum since, again... there's no such thing as an economic refugee.
Anyway, once they came over, they were given everything... literally everything Social Security and welfare benefits had to offer.
In just 2024 alone, more than 2.1 million illegal immigrants were given social security numbers: - All of them received maximum benefits - 1.3 on Medicaid - Multiple people found to have voted (and have been referred)
But it's worse than that... that was only 2024... there were millions more across 2021-2023.
What I find most obnoxious though, is that all the people on the left here were absolutely adamant that this wasn't happening, that it was all lies, etc.

As I said... these are Cuban expats who have come to America... and they are no longer refugees, they were given full citizenship until President Obama eliminated the wet-foot / dry-foot policy.
This chart is just for those following a legal process to obtain citizenship. The EBE program started under Trump. These are not illegals. You can’t just declare that they are illegal immigrants because you don’t agree that they were asylum seekers.

Asylum seekers do not all get SSNs, they need to be given an asylum court date, then apply for and receive clearance to work in the US while awaiting that court date. Once they are working, they can apply for a SSN.
The program that increased the number of SSNs to immigrants -Enumeration Beyond Entry- was started by the Trump administration in 2017, with the goal being to get more LEGAL immigrants into the system to more effectively collect taxes from them. They gave out a over 300,000 SSNs to asylum seekers that year. Granted, it did continue under Biden, but it is dishonest to portray this policy as being enacted/carried out to benefit liberals/Democrats; I can promise that was not the Trump administration's goal when they created and implemented the program.
None of these immigrants are guaranteed "literally everything Social Security and welfare benefits [have] to offer" or the "max benefits" being claimed. It actually doesn't entitle them to any of those benefits, including the ability to vote. The way that information was included was extremely misleading. To reiterate, legal (or illegal) immigrants cannot use a SSN to register to vote. If you are interested in what Federal benefits documented legal immigrants with a right to work in the US have access to:
Ineligible for most federal public benefits, including: - TANF - SSI - SNAP - Regular Medicaid
Potentially eligible for: - Emergency medical services (e.g., Emergency Medicaid) - Public health immunizations - Short-term, non-cash emergency disaster relief - Certain housing assistance programs
If I took this video's information at face value I would be frustrated as well. I do not trust politicians the way many folks on this forum trust the Trump administration, and that makes me question these claims as they come out more than they appear to. The more you question these claims the more dishonesty you find and the less frustrated you have to be
The thing that gets me, is with all of the very good reasons to audit Social Security, and all of the very real good that could be done by it, isn't it more frustrating that DOGE has completely obfuscated any view into what they are doing, and appears to be more focused on personal vendettas and politicking than the actual efficiency their name promises?
