As in the title, I'm thinking about one of these. It would be a used one price 10 to 15 thousand or so. I'd like your feedback. on them, particularly, front seat comfort and how easy it is for us old people to get in and out of. I like the old school look of them. Thanks.

They are super comfortable any way you look at it. Very nice to sit in, totally decent to drive. There is some discussion to be had about reliability long-term, especially with the transmission on certain models. If I didn't need the towing capability I have with the Suburban, I'd be shopping a Flex instead. I have a couple friends with them, and generally think Ford did a good job on them.

I owned a 2015 for awhile. I liked most things about it, the fuel economy wasn't that great though, but I doubt any vehicle that large does. I only traded it in to lower my monthly payment.

Thanks for the info. I'm in the early stages of shopping for one. A small local dealer has one for $7000 but it has just over 103,000 miles The miles don't worry me much since my Fiero has over 235,000 mile on her, but I can go higher then that price to get a lower mileage one. The first step is to make sure we can get in and out of it. I have a bad back and knee and my wife is almost all bad everywhere.

It's very easy to get in and out of. Not too tall but tall enough that you should be able to just slide in.

We've had ours for about 6 years (2011 model). LOVE IT!! Very easy to get into and out of for people of any age. Ours is 2wd, I think living in the Midwest I'd opt for the AWD next time. The only thing I don't care for is the towing capacity is not enough to tow my Fiero to shows.

Where is the water pump ? Ask what it would cost to replace. If it's inside cost could be $1000 to 2500.

We went to look at the the cheap Flex a local dealer had, We found it easy to to get in and out of, so it served it's purpose. The sales guy was talking about but I told him we weren't interested in it. My wife said she thought it was too big big and she wouldn't be able to park it. My wife headed towards our car when the sales guy said he had something we might like. I told my wife to wait a second, and he showed us a really nice CUV. Super comfortable, and easy to get in and out of. I now own an 08 Lincoln MKX. So far we love it. It was right in our price range. Thanks for the information you all gave.

I believe your mkx has the same 3.5 as my old 2010 fusion sport. Car ran great, really strong for a v6. One day on my way to work I noticed no heat from the heater, farther down the road the temperature gauge pegged and engine codes came on. Got the local Ford dealer to come get it and find the problem. Later that day I went over to check on it. Well they said the engine was making internal noise and I needed a new motor. $8000. ,So after a month of working on it I finally got to the water pump which was bad. I even had to buy a $100 harmonic balancer Puller. Sorry I'm just not a Ford fan any more.

Yes it has a 3.5. I'll have to keep an ear out for noise. A few years ago I was driving my 235,000 mile 84 SE and heard a terrible sound from the engine compartment as I stopped at a traffic light on the exit. I got home and told my wife I thought the motor was shot finally. I let it cool down and went out to check it out. I grabbed the water pump pulley and it wiggled all around. What a relief.

I don't own a Flex, but I do want to add that all my other cars are Fords. They have been since I started driving back in the 70's, Fords, at least for me, have, and still are extremely dependable automobiles, and I like their style. I had 4 Thunderbirds in a row at one time. Look at Ford history too, they had a mojor part of building America. Have you driven a Ford, "lately".

So far I'm loving the Lincoln, and even more important so is the wife. We took it on a couple of short trips and find it very comfortable. I can't wait for nicer weather so I can start tinkering with it and shine up the black paint.
