the motor in my 87 GT has developed a knock when its warm.

Maybe I should have changed the oil as soon as I got it instead of driving it about 500 miles after it had sat for 5+ years...

Going to try and drop the oil pan this winter and replace the rod bearings.
The last two 2.8s I've had both threw rods (before I got them) due to low oil and poor maintenance, I guess I should have been proactive and not beat it as hard.

Perhaps it sounds a whole lot different in person, but over my speakers here it sounds more like a rough-idling engine with some sort of an exhaust leak.

Can you feel it knocking/banging while its running?

The exhaust leak sound is from no air filter on the car in the video, its open at the throttle body

Car idles fine, has brand new wires/cap with a new ICM.

Only knocks when warm.
I strongly believe it is knock anyway.
Can low or irregular oil pressure cause knock? Because when it does this the oil gauge jumps around like crazy, but it 5 quarts of high-mileage mobil-1 in it, it has plenty of oil.

No, I'm not referring to the high-pitched intake hiss. I'm referring to the deep bassy sound.
