I got my 1984 Fiero with 110k miles on trade, valued at $2200. I have since bought two parts cars ('85 Duke and '85 2m6, both around 100k miles) for $500 each. Nothing in Alaska is cheap, it seems.
Edit to add model years and mileage.

$4000 for my 88 coupe back in 2000. It only had 27,000 miles on it. $400 for my Indy last year. Have probably $2000 into it now with getting it running and everything.
$5,000 for 88 GT with 57,000 miles in 1999 $3,000 for 88 Coupe 1-owner with 57,000 miles in 2000 $1,500 for 84 SE, forgot the year, engine had been rebuilt

$500 for my 1988 GT last summer. Probably about $2000 into getting it back on the road (mostly other people doing the big work). It sat in a barn since 2003 but is virtually rust-free.
1st one an 84 a guy gave for fixing his motorcycle it need an oil presure sensor .My 2nd $500 .00 for a 86 se that the owner thought the water pump was bad . A hose clamp was loose . Then finally traded the 86 and got $ 200.00 and my yellow Formula.
$500 for an '84 coupe with 92,XXX miles in 2001. Ran with a new fuel pump and a bit of work. $400 for an '87 coupe with 134,XXX miles in 2002. Ran and drive fine. Just had bad cosmetics. $2,000 for an '88 Formula with 150,XXX miles in 2009. Ran and drive fine with pretty good cosmetics. $1,000 for my current '86 GT with 264,XXX miles in 2009. Runs and drives fine with most of the issues sorted out.
I guess not bad having owned four Fieros I have driven at some point and not paid more than $4,000 total for buying price...
I'll help....$11,500 for an 88gt, 10k miles but mint condition. Have done nothing but new battery, new tires and redo air. Although I bought it in 1988...

I would have loved to get a Fiero brand new, but having been born in 1987 myself, it was... unlikely. Do you have any pictures of your car floating around? I'd love to see it.
1986 GT really bad shape = $350 New engine, and just about everything else = 3 year restore thus far, $8965.13 (Keeping a spread sheet of everything I have bought for it)
Most of mine have been a few hundred dollars. They were all drivable except the 85se v6 auto i just got out of a barn. The most i paid was 1500 in 2002 for my 87gt 5 speed with 90k. Ive got about 7k into that car now with the 3800sc and such.
$3500 for an 88GT, 100K, pretty clean, no rust, but pops out of 1st sometimes (still driving it that way, waiting for it to die) in 2006.
$3000 for an 88GT CJB in 2007. Rough car, didn't care to much because I wanted it for a re-body and swap - but I didn't know HOW rough till I started to tear into it. No rust, though. Also, the 6000 mile rebuild on engine and trans turned out to be imaginary.
Also had an 86SE, bought in about '93 with about 50K on it, seems like I paid about$3500 for it.
First Fiero was an 85 SE V6 4 speed. Fully loaded with 42k miles on it. Purchased it in 1993 for $2800. Sold it with a blown engine in 1995 for $1200.
Second Fiero was an 84 SC 4 speed. No options, 110k miles. Purchased it in 1995 for $1000. 4 months later I did a quick sale for $900 so I could buy my third Fiero...
Third Fiero was an 86 SE V6/5 speed. Fully loaded with 95k miles. Purchased it in 1995 for $1050 (that is the price he was asking...and that is the firmest I have ever seen someone be with the price. He simply refused to drop it to an even $1000. I still own this one.
On paper, I have only paid $2750 for my Fieros. But I think Hercimer got it right...
$600 for my first, and 84 SE. This was the first car that I bought by myself. I put $100 down, and made payments until it was paid off. Guy kept up his end of the deal, and mailed me the title from Michigan to Las Vegas even after he moved.
$75 for an 84 parts car. Every piece of glass besides the sunroof was smashed on this car. Saw it in someone's side yard, and asked if they wanted to sell it. I think she was just glad someone wanted it.
$800 for an 87 SE. Another one spotted in someone's side yard. It was my first V6. I totally over paid for it. It needed a timing chain and fuel pump to run. Got underneath it and found that the front cross member of the cradle was broken. Have no clue how that could have happened! This one is where I decided on my user name.
$700 for an 86 GT. Guy came into my shop for a new tire and let me drive it. I told him it sounded like one of the rod bearings was going bad and offered to buy it. He refused. He came back a few months later and offered to sell it to me for $1000 because he spun a bearing and couldn't afford a new engine. Took the engine from the 87 and swapped it in.
$850 for my most recent; another 86 GT. It's the first automatic I've ever owned. I've had it for less than a week, and I've already gotten a note on the windshield offering to buy it. It must have been the rocks I left under the front tires when I jacked the back end up that sent the message that I don't use it and I want to sell it. I don't know. It's not going anywhere though.
I bought my 84 for $600 and it's the only Fiero I've owned, although I sold it earlier this year. I do watch KSL and if I see one pop up that I just have to have... Well . I did see a 88 on KSL yesterday out here for $800, not running however. I'm thinking about going and taking a look at it to see what kind of shape it's in rust wise, but it's only a 4 cylinder .

1984 Fiero SE purchased in 1985 from Connell Chevrolet in Killeen, TX for $10,000 Still own. Have put way over this amount into the car since I bought it 27 years ago. 1988 Formula purchased in 1998 or 1999 for $4000 sold it for $5200 a year later 1984 Fiero SE purchased in 2004 for $800 included a complete DGP kit. Still own. 1988 Fiero GT purchased in 2005 for $2500 gave it to my Niece as a birthday present...it's gone now
I only plan on buying two more Fieros (if the wife lets me) . One to customize and one special one I am waiting for someone to sell.
Ok this got a lot more long winded than expected so here are the short points. 85GT in 93 for 2950 Like New 84 Coupe in 95 for 100 like crap Misc cars 84-87 free - 500 bucks 88GT in 2005 $1000 yes 1000 Yellow 88GT 5spd all options, except T-Top 87GT in 2008 $300 Looked Nice but blown clutch.
Bought my 85GT when I was 17 for a steal at $2900 back in 93, when it was still a fairly new car. Bought an 84 parts car for $100 bucks. It ran and drove, but had been a theft recovery and beaten to hell.
Over the 10 years between 93 and 2003 I didn't buy any Fiero's just kept driving and modified my 85GT. Sent the 84 to the wrecker in trade for a new motor and install into my 85GT.
In my late 20's I started to have enough cash to start buying cars, and bought dozens and parted them, or fixed them and sold them, from 86 4spd SE cars 84-85 4cyl cars and one 88 Coupe. I sold the 88 Coupe with 40,000 miles on it as a runner that needed some TLC for 800 bucks.
Then I bought my 88GT with 90,000 miles on it. Back in 2007 for $1000 bucks. Its a really funny story. When I got the call, the lady said it was a parts car. Wanted to know what I should get for it, as a wrecker. I didn't even know it was an 88GT, she just said she had a Yellow Fiero with a V6. I said well any Yellow Fiero (that must be an 88) is any condition is worth 500 bucks. So I told her 500. I thought I should go check this thing out. Maybe I could part it out, and use the rear suspension for my 85GT. So I went and took a look at. She said she did a bit of research and would like 1000 for it.
This is what I found. ]img]http://captfiero.com/captsnewride/bigimages/1.JPG[/img]
I drove by the car, and was blown away before I even spoke to her, I drove by the car went to the straight bank and pulled out the 1000 in cash. (at the time that was about $800 USD) I came back didn't even dicker on it, I was just blown away that she could have called it an old crappy looking parts car. She took it to the local Mini dealership the guys at the Mini dealership did had have a huge stick up their a$$ and chip on their shoulder. Nose Up in the Air telling her the car was junk and crap and not really worth trying to sell it they frankly didn't want it but would send it to Auction. Which was really mean for them to do, I think they could have been nicer about it, but in the end it put me in a great place to buy the car.
I handed her the cash for the and get this, $24,000 in receipts from the time it was NEW. Including a BRAND NEW MOTOR that was installed. She had swiped her mastercard for $5000 for Rebuild 2.8 when she had let the engine run low and snapped the crank. She said she was much more careful about taking it in for fluid checks after that. I expected it not to run, but I jumped in and Vra,Vra Vroom, purred like a kitten I took it down for Emissions testing and it passed, so the motor was good. I could not believe I scored such a nice 88GT in Yellow with V6 5spd Air Condition Air Lumbar Seats and even Overhead Sub Woofer Factory installed for 1000 bucks.
As I was about to leave stopped me and said, Oh do you want the spare wheels and tires? I was like uhm Spare Wheels? Ya she, I was worried about now up here, and have not had a time ot use these yet, but I bought a set of special Winter Tires and Rims for the car. (found the receipt for that, 1500 bucks. She bought Winter Fire snow tires at $250 each, plus 4 brand new Wheels to mount them on, and after all the costs and taxes up here came to 1500 bucks, and she tossed them in for free. So wait a second, here, The tires and wheels are worth more than the entire car that I just paid her 1000 for and she is tossing them in for free? So Basically I got the car for free. I was amazed and blown away. I gave her a huge Hug and I drove off in my first 88GT and a cream of the crop 88 being a Yellow 88GT fully loaded. Its a Hardtop car and I would have preferred a T-Top or at the least a sunroof, but hey you can't have it all.
Then I bought my 87GT. The seller had tried to sell it to me for years. It was a total custom Burgundy 87GT with a Body Kit. I kept saying No, and a few years went buy, he blew the clutch, and his Strata was threatening to fine him $100 per day if he did not move it.
He call he and said 300 bucks and a tow truck and it was mine. I went and looked at it, the Body was perfect except for the nose. The interior was SHOW car quality, and the engine looked nice.
So this is what he had.
I said for 300 bucks it was a deal. My goal was to strip the car, down to the frame, clean it all up, then strip my 85GT 4.9 down and transfer all my parts to this cars chaise, however leaving the Nose and Fastback Clip, and adding a few Body Mods while we did it. We had a ton of fun with club members coming over and helping drinking lots of uhm, stuff. Having such a large club, we seem to have at least one member involved in every aspect of car building. We have an engine guy a body mod guy. (Car-2-Lo and Clynt) We have a stereo guy and even an upholstery guy, we have an engine re-builder and a transmission re-builder. Most will for the right encouragement for parts / beer or labour will come and help with almost anything.
We had a ball building it into my 857GT Racer that is currently at FOY getting the engine rebuilt.
Our Best/Worst deal with an 86 Fiero SE 5spd Chevy V8, Corvette Brakes, Coil Over suspension rear sway bar, and tons of other mods. Car only had 56,00kms on it. (40,000 miles) Seller had a new baby and frankly had gotten into custom Jacked up 4wd Astro Vans so he wanted the money to fix and build the Astro. He said $1500 bucks and it was ours, we drove it home. We spent almost $1000 on parts to rebuild it, then never did. We ended up selling it for I believe 2500 which was more than we paid for it, but still a great deal for the new buyer. So we were both really happy. It was actually my wife's Fiero, but with 2 kids it just did not work for her. She is keeping her 85 V6 Fiero for shows, but the V8 went down the road.
It has been a wild ride and I plan to have a Fiero till I die. (just waiting for 4 seat Fiero to come up for sale, either the GM one that was sold a few Years ago, or one of the conversion I have seen kicking around)

New and still have the car with 145,000 $4100 for my 88 GT in 1996 54K miles..my money pit, still have it now has 144K miles $13000 for my 1988 IMSA coupe with a V8 archie ZZ4 350 CI V8. 2004 mileage maybe 6000 miles on the engine. still have it.

Bought my '87 Coupe for $500 on New Year's Day, 2011. I was looking for a good candidate for the Quad 4 out of my dying '92 Beretta GTZ. I found a 5-speed Iron Duke car in Fayetteville, Arkansas that looked pretty rough in the CraigsList ad. Turns out the woman had bought it brand new and had loved it, but was finally selling it because it had quit a couple of months before (probably a broken timing gear). She was happy someone like me had bought it. The car was 99% complete and completely rust free.
Now, almost two years later, I've finally begun the actual swap. I've also found myself looking at other Fieros, for the wife or one of the kids.
$4500 for my 88GT in 2003 with 118k on the clock... I overpaid.
Has all options except T-tops, leather and rear defrost... does have power lumbar.
Originally being an Arizona car and never being driven in winter was a good find in MN... but damn near everything on it has needed something. If I had bought it as a normal used car, I would have been pissed... luckily I am surrounded by really talented and resourceful folks here in MN.
It looks good in this pic... but the damage done to the paint in the AZ sun has gone beyond what wax can cover on the roof and driver side fender at this point...

In 2001 Stan Rakovan from a Pittsburg suburb had an 88 base coupe parts car for sale. I bought for $550 in late summer of 2001 and dollied it back to GR. I had to put on the road in December of 2001 and have been driving it and fixing/restoring ever since. It had 86,000 on it, it now has 185,700.
