I like this. But, captain obvious--how else BUT 'quietly', would the writer expect a spy ship to arrive? The Viktor Leonov CCB-175, an armed intelligence-gathering vessel built for the Soviet navy in the late 1980s, quietly arrived Wednesday, according to news reports
The last ship I was assigned to DD-964 Paul F. Foster is still in use. Launched 1974. Commissioned 1976. Been de-commissioned, struck from record then recommissioned as EDD-964.
On 8 April 2011, Wired.com reported that Paul F. Foster had successfully used the Maritime Laser Demonstrator for the first time in a sea-to-sea target test, sinking a small inflatable motorboat at a range of one mile in rough seas.[3]
On 17 November 2011, Paul F. Foster demonstrated the use of shipboard alternative fuel, while underway in the Pacific Ocean on a 50–50 blend of an algae-derived, hydro-processed algal oil and petroleum F-76.[4] The ship arrived Thursday morning to the Naval Surface Warfare Center at Port Hueneme in Southern California after traveling for 17 hours on a maiden trip from San Diego

Yea! During the last cold war I was humping High School girls. If the cold war kicks in again, can I go back to humping High School girls? After all, the governments are going back to doing something that was a bad idea.

I have to agree, on both accounts. This time, they'll throw you in jail and your room mate won't appreciate your reason for being there. If you make it out, all of your neighbors will be trying to run you out of the neighborhood.

Remember how the anointed one laughed off Romney's statement that Russia was a the biggest threat to world stability during the pre-election debates? I believe he made some smarmy comment about how the "80s called and they want their foreign policy back". Just another case of your president having his head firmly planted in his ass.

I just had a good laugh watching the CNN's coverage of the escalating situation in Crimea. Their headline was "Putin bullying Obama?", and they went on to talk about how Putin is being very mean to Obama by forcing him into a difficult postion. They said that the bullying tactics the Russian's were employing against the US were unfair. God, it's sad watching what a laughing stock Obama has made your country into. The only thing that would make things even more hilarious is if Putin flew over the US and gave your president a gotch bull live on television.
This next one will be a threesome and my money is on China for the win.
Oh not me. China will never ever lead the world in anything. This culture is based on punishment. Make a mistake, get punished. No one here will ever lead because sometimes leaders make mistakes. Mistakes get punished! Why do you think they copy our successful products? Because they know it works and they won't get punished! Seriously, China is mighty fine with watching and copying our good stuff. (And making movies about the Japanese invading during WW2. There is some version playing everyday on one of the local channels. They hate the Japanese very much.)

I always like first hand accounts. They have good reason to hate the Japanese (as they build high tech products for Japanese and American corporations).
I think a cold war would be exactly what the idiots on capitol hill need to see that America is not some invincible rock rolling down a mountain side crushing anything that gets in its path, Right now it strikes me that America is some big shot bully in the recess yard picking on smaller defenseless countries until one day one someone decides to push back with the balls behind them to really do some damage, I think Russia is going to end up being that bigger set of balls to push back.
