I'm all for increasing the gas tax, either to

1. Offset income tax, or
2. Pay for infrastructure

But only if the government proves that it can be trusted with additional revenue, to spend it on what they say they will spend it on. They have a long way to go.

I question the financial viability of bike lanes and anyway a striped line won't do you any good when an inattentive driver runs over you. I also question the intelligence of those bike riders who ride on narrow scenic two lane roads with no shoulder. I recognize the pleasure of those rides. I also recognize the risk. I like both bikes and cars. I just don't think that they mix very well. The biggest safety device I have on my bike is the rear view mirror. Hopefully I might be able to see the inattentive driver heading at me before I get run over and have a chance to take evasive action.

In Eugene, Oregon (probably other places too) they have a ghost bike tied to a post near where the latest biker was killed. Bikes are no match for cars and should be on separate paths.

Taxes is the forcible taking of other people's money. An income tax should be an income tax, and a gas tax a gas tax. I don't think you meant the more gas taxes I pay the less income taxes I pay. I don't believe in that either. Some, many people do not need to drive, or drive much.
Me thinks the whole income tax system needs to be scrapped.

Then separate paths should be provided, even between towns. We have the right to assembly and it should not be impeded. Since the government decided to be our momma and keep us safe, there should be no discrimination.

Apparently, you haven't seem my Spandex Modeling Calendar. I thought it would be better to start slowly in modeling versus jumping right to speedos.

Isn't it strange that after a bombing, everyone blames the bomber, his upbringing, his environment, his culture, his mental state but … after a shooting, the problem is the gun?

Let me guess. You didn't have to pay taxes on the income it made.

Not such a bad idea, most people are not moved by either scientific or moral arguments but certainly by anything that affects their wallets (enough).
