Ok this has bothered me now to the point of creating a post....

Which direction (clockwise or counter-clockwise) do you twist a Twist Tie in order to seal something (i.e. bread bag, garbage bag, ets.). I always twist the tie clockwise to "seal" something because almost everything turns clockwise to close, seal, turn off, or stop. Yet when I buy something from the store it more often than not comes with the tie twisted counter-clockwise. And then after sealing something at home with a clockwise twisted tie, I will then later find it re-sealed in a counterclockwise direction after my son has goteen into it.... It's just one of those things that bugs me, kind of like the rolling direction of toilet paper rolls.

yeah, I've been wondering where those factories find all the left-handed people to put them on the bags. It's aggravating, for sure.

When I asked he said "why does it matter" ?.........I guess it really doesn't but for some reason it still irks me.

BTW... I am left handed, but, do not twist them counter-clockwise...

I don't have any set way. I guess it just depends on how my hand is situated when I grab it as to which way I spin it.

Take it off, throw it away, twist clockwise and tuck under.

/agree, though I suspend the article in the air and spin the main part clockwise while I hold the top of the bag, which I guess put's a counter clockwise twist in the bag.

You can do what my boys do. Open bread, leave twist tie off, leave lid off PB & J jars, and then deny everything, even with the evidence on their breath and lips.

Funny you mention that, because I twist electrical wires and twisty-ties the same way: clockwise. And I'm a lefty.

That would have to be clockwise so you can thread a wire nut on them...

I've been wondering what we had in common. Now I know.

I use spark1's method, fold the end underneath and place the bread away. My wife spins it, then folds the end of the bag back over the bread. Save the little plastic closers from the bagles bag. Twist the bag and then just slide them on.

Another South Paw here and the twist tie goes back on clockwise. And the TP comes off the TOP of the roll, not the bottom of the roll.
