Mountain Dew is nasty, no matter what they do to it. I will agreee that the old logo was better though.
I'm watching all over for Pepsi Throwback, it's the same thing they're doing with Mtn Dew (real sugar, retro logo). Coke is great with cane sugar and I've been waiting for years to taste Pepsi with real sugar.
i liked it. best part was that it was only $.99 for a 20 oz. bottle where i picked it up. like ya said, the taste was a little different but it was a good different.

I drink Mountain Dew all day long. Love the stuff. I do construction, and am able to chug off of a 2 litre. Even warm. But what I don't want them to make again, is that Pepsi Clear. Remember that. Ewww!
I have been drinking Boylans sodas for the last year because they use cane sugar and its so much better. Every variety they have is good, but I am hooked on the "Cane Cola." Unfortunately its $4.25 a FOUR pack so I enjoy it sparingly.

I'll have to try some of the new dew! As for the crystal pepsi, I LUVED it! One thing i'd like to see back though would be GOLD SEVEN UP....... Man was that tasty!!!

This reminds me of when new coke came out. Everyone hated it and they reformulated classic and remarketed it. If you go to Canada and have a coke, it tastes different.

They still sell New Coke in the states. It's called "Coke." They sell both Coca-Cola Classic and Coke. Most fountain drinks are Coke.
I found some Dew Throwback tonight. Man, it really does taste better. I stopped drinking regular Dew with HFCS because it tasted sickenly sweet to me, like syrup. This, while still sweet, doesn't have that overbearing taste to it. Very good!

Actually, there is no New Coke anymore. Coke is Coca-Cola Classic.
Coca-Cola Classic is still being sold as a marketing ploy for the old people who still remember the ol New Coke and Coke II fiasco. But Coca-Cola Classic and Coke are actually the same formula and same Coke. Nothing is different.
In fact, Coca-Cola announced that now (2009) they will stop using the "classic" label to avoid confusion with younger generations that are now up and coming and have no clue about the 80's fiasco.
New Coke died back in 1992.

I did a quick search on Google but couldn't find anything other than a repeated Wikipedia article. Strangely enough, the words "New Coke" don't appear on the Coke website. I was under the impression they kept selling both. But that was back in the early 90's, so they may have done it for a while before Coke II finally died.
Yep, still have a empty 12-pack of that sitting in my closet (as well as a bunch of other old soda cans). I had one still full that I was going to drink whenever I decided it was time, but something hit it and the can leaked . Last time I ever tasted dnL.
That was my favorite citrus before Vault came out, and Vault is amazing stuff. We surprisingly have both Mello Yello and Vault here, most markets have one or the other. Mello Yello is good once in awhile.
But the best soda ever is still Cheerwine... Every time we go to North Carolina we bring back about 12-15 cases of it. I think in the 70s it used to be around here...
Crap, now I wish I had some... we ran out of our most recent stash last year.
Anyone know where to get the Pepsi/Dew with sugar? I tried to find some while grocery shopping yesterday and all they had was the plain ol' Corn Syrup stuff.
I like the retro dew with sugar better. I have tried the retro pepsi with real sugar too and it's better but seems a bit flat right after you pour it. There's some coke out with real sugar too and it's excellent.

I found some at a liquor store next to a bowling alley...

Looked again today and still could not find anything. I got on Pepsi's website and shot off an email saying I wanted to try some but have been unable to locate any in my area and asked if they could tell me somewhere in the Tulsa area to find some.
Wonder if I'll get a response...

Here's an interesting (well....to me anyway) story about Crystal Pepsi. I was stationed at the Naval Base in Groton, CT from late December 1991-August 1992. After graduating from Subschool in April, I drove the GT home for a 2 week leave. While I was home (in Colorado), I found Crystal Pepsi at 7-11. I tried it and thought it was OK and thought nothing more of it. Once back on the east coast, I, being the the dirt poor squid that I was, had to drive my '88 GT to Rhode Island to fill up the tank. I had a Texaco gas card at the time and Connecticut (at least back then) had no Texacos (at least any near Groton)......I would fill up the Fiero and buy food at the store inside to fill me up. They too had Crystal Pepsi so I thought it was just a new thing and thought nothing of it (having also bought it in Colorado). It wasn't until later that I found out that Rhode Island and Colorado were the two test markets for Crystal Pepsi. What are the odds that I bought this stuff in both locations before it was available nationwide?
OK.....I guess that wasn't very interesting at all. I guess it's all relative to the boredom I felt on a submarine.
The biggest problem with Crystal Pepsi wasn't the taste. It tasted just like regular Pepsi, but since it was clear most people's brains tried to tell them that it should taste like 7-up or Sprite and when it didn't, their brain registered it as tasting "bad". Same would hold true if you smelled a pepperoni pizza and tasted sardines when you took a bite......knowing what pepperoni tastes like, your brain prepared yourself for the pepperoni, not sardines. Same with the clear soda.....your brain says Sprite, but your tastebuds say Pepsi. Brain wins.
Now about the Pepsi with real sugar. I bought a 12-pack last night and surprisingly enough, I don't like the tatse. Crazy. I guess I am so used to high fructose corn syrup that the real stuff doesn't interest me. That's too bad.....I really enjoyed the Mexican Coke with real cane sugar, but I really prefer Pepsi. Uh oh! My Coke was from Mexico.....does that mean I'm at risk for that swine flu!?
Edited to add: What I want to know is whatever happened to Coke with Lime? I can still find diet Coke with Lime, but not the regular. I sort of liked it.....I couldn't drink it all day long, but it was OK every once in awhile.
