Up for sale is a new in box Linksys WRT54G TM that has been reflashed so that it appears to be a WRT54GL and thus can now be flashed to any WRT54G-compatible firmware including Open-wrt, tomato, etc etc. This is the rare one that has 8 megs of flash ram and 32 megs of ram. Comes with the more desirable 100v-240v ac adaptor.

Right now it has the DD-WRT v24 Mega-10404 firmware installed. Two primary benefits of installing DD-WRT:

1) Your router can now serve as a wireless ethernet bridge to connect a wired ethernet device to an existing wireless network. Works great for gaming consoles and cable/satelite tv receivers that require an ethernet connection.

2) The Stock Transmit Power: 82mW (802.11b) - 74mW (802.11g)(but when flashed with DD-WRT you can push the TX to 251mW) - in a nutshell, you can increase the range of your wireless network up to 3X.

Comes in retail box. $70 shipped to the lower 48.

what version router is that? v5? v6? also pushing any of the routers to its "max" TX isnt recomended, it creates alot more heat, and pushes the chipset limits, lowing the life of the router. shouldnt take it over 150mW without aditional cooling,

eh there's only one version of the WRT54G TM - that'd make it v1.0

http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...54G_series#WRT54G-TM

and the tx value is the default dd-wrt of 70.
