Such a shame. I have been listening to his stuff a lot for the last week too. I was fortunate enough to see him once in concert once. I always loved his HBO specials, never laughed harder.

... and Fidel Castro yet lives? As a side note, was the movie Cars a curse or something? Carlin played 'Filmore' the VW van, the Producer Joe Ranft died before the movie was released, Owen Wilson attempted suicide, and Paul Newman has been diagnosed with lung cancer. The movie was Newman's last before he retired.

A sad day indeed. Carlin was a big part of my growing up and coming of age. I have enjoyed his comedy since the early 80's. Just looking at a picture of the man put a smile on my face.
He will be missed.
RIP George.

And thanks for helping to break down numerous walls.
Agreed. I like his social comedy especially involving the differences in race.
I remember him saying, "When the lights are off (white and black have sex), its all the same." "So whats the bid deal with hating each other with the lights on?" It may not the exact wordings her, but it went along those lines.

Weird......I watched the first one about an hour ago and it worked just fine, but the second one came up 'no Ionger available'. Now both don't work for me.
This came out of the blue. I saw him on stage in Vegas in 1980. My Dad knew I was a Carlin fan so he tipped the Host $20 for a good table. In 1980 that was a healthy tip. Front and Center! I had my elbow on the stage. I felt like he was doing the whole show just for me since it was a slow night an few other people were at the front tables.
I'll never forget his News broadcasts:
THIS JUST IN: A man has barracaded himself in his home but he isn't armed and he isn't holding any hostages sooooo no one is paying any attention.
So long George

On SNL tonight? Perhaps even as we speak? I remember when he had short hair and was a starving artist, got tuned up and tuned in? Edit - snap - the very first show, Mmmmm this is good. ------------------ Ol' Paint, 88 Base coupe auto. Turning white on top, like owner. Leaks a little, like owner. Doesn't smoke....... OK, we're trying to quit.

Yes my wife and I watched that as well last night. In honor of a great man they aired the entire first episode. Sure wish SNL was that funny now!
