I've tried many brands and stuff throughout the years. Electric razors from Norelcos and Brauns, straight razors from single blade disposables, Gillette Mach 3, to Schick Quattro (4 blader).
Tons of different shaving creams and gels.
So far my set-up is Schick Quattro and Barbarsol Sensative Skin cream.
But I don't think the Quattro is all that great. Mach 3 tore up my neck all the time (breakouts), and the Electrics I like, I have the Braun Syncro... I use it every once in a while, but it doesn't get my neck stubble very well. I used to have a Norelco, and it sucked.
Maybe in the future it will be lasers or something.
Just wondering if you guys are having any luck on razors and creams?

I use a piece of the star drive that was in my childhood ship that brought me to this planet many years ago. The outer shell burnt up on re-entry, but Ma and Pa Kent saved the rest of it for me.
The piece I use is highly reflective, slightly curved, and I hold it about 18 inches from my face and focus my heat vision into it. It reflects and burns off the hairs.

I use a coconut shell. The ones that are left over can be used to cover your man boobs...

You know, this is not a bad question. Now a days, the product manufactures think we are women. They are bombarding us with millions of choices. Men like it simple. Or, in some cases, easy I am lucky. My job entails I am gonna get dirty. Being clean shaved with cologne is of no benifit. I do stay close shaved however, usually with my Norelco. When I really shave, I like the Gillette Mach III. Shaving cream is shaving cream to me, but I usually just use soap while in the shower.
I have used a lot of different products, I find the new mach 3 with the vibrating thing does a good job, and I use some shaving oil/cream. I'm not really happy with any of them, as you said, some are great for some spots, but lousy on others...
Notice that some of them look like sports cars, the handles have little vents and stuff...

You use soap? That's funny because most of your posts stink!
Mach III here, with a good gel shaving cream. I hate electric shavers, they take too long and never get as close as a razor. If you let your stubbies get to long, hurts like heck if trying to use an electric. Is this going to be your first shave? If so, remember to shave down with the grain then up against it for a close shave.
A little story: I was in CT on a project and needed a hair cut (actually all of them) and so went to a babrber shop. $19 for a hair cut! My stylist does it for $16 and has the perks of being rubbed up against... anyway, I decided to treat myself to a barber shave. Another $19! The barber did all the fancy stuff barbers do- slapped my face, hot towl, the works. When all was done, my face felt like I had shaved it with an old razor. I could have done a better job myself and saved the money.

I use an electric now... I hate it. It gets the job done, and arguably without irritating your skin as much, but it always misses spots... I still have to touch up with a gillette sensor excel 2 bladed one... no soaps or creams, just plain water for me, thanks.
Schick 3-blade disposable razors in the shower, no shaving soap. Use 'em 'till the're dull, throw 'em out, and get a new one. If I don't shave for a week I get a full beard.
Mach 3 with gilette gel stuff. I like the green or blue.
I'm gonna have to get some kinda fancy shaper/razor thingy though, I'm trying to get those 'flames' carved into my sideburn things. Like the ads, you know? I can do it, too, if only I had the technology to do so.
I love facial hair. So stylish! lol!

I use an Atra Plus. Two blades and the little lubricating strip. I just use water, but I usually shave right after I step out of the shower, so the skin is still a little moist. I'm also one of those people who can grow a beard in about a week. PITA.

I recently switched to disposable razors since the refills cost an arm and a leg these days with all the new fangled twin turbo, quatro bladed, vibrating heads hit the market. For lather I still use a mug and brush. (The brush is made from weasel tails)

The shower is the place to shave.
Gillette Sensor Excel - two blades. Three blades is too much.
I use the Gillete Mach3 Turbo doesn't that have such a cool name? lmao It has disposable razors so once it goes dull you just put on a new one.
I actually don't use shaving gel or anything, just straight up shave. I've done this since I was like early teen, and didn't know you were suppose to use shaving gel at that age lol . Everyone told me it would break my face out or cut it up really bad......nope perfectly smooth. My skin rocks
I usually shave myself with a rusted and blunt axe like a real man, I also use no water or soap. Those are for wussies.
j/king . I don't really care, I used a Mach 3 once and I didn't like the swiveling head. Right now I use Barbasol generic shaving cream with disposable Kroger brand razors with 2 blades on each. Not exactly the closest shave you can get, but good enough. I started shaving when I was 12-13 like this and I don't really get razorburn or other irritation, and I've only cut myself twice in 6-7 years.

I've been using a track II for almost 20 years now. I also use Edge shaving gel with Aloe. Any extra blades over two is just a gimmick.
Wow, that must be some razor! You'd think after 20 years, Santa would have brought you a new one. Imagine how clean shaven your face would be with a brand new Track II !
Dude, is that lipstick you're wearing? Not to be judgemental but, eeeewwwwwwwww.....

I use a Mach 3. I shave in the shower and use a little soap to help prevent friction. I am also one of those that can grow a full beard in a week. Sometimes I will shave twice a day if I have an evening function to attend.
I spend atleast 20 minutes in the shower before I even attempt to shave. Normaly it's the last thing I do before I get out.
So for me it's a long shower, a good lathering with soap and a gillette good news, anything else and it's like a Carrie movie followed by the Towering Inferno.

I only shave once a week though. I hate having to deal with facial hair in general, but if I shave more then 1 time in 4-5 days, I get razor burn like hell. It wasn't like this untill I moved to vegas, I guess its the water. I used to use an electric all the time, but really it just took to long, would miss alot of spots and just didn't do that great of a job anyway.
The thing that stinks, is that its my "companys policy" that you have to be clean shaven. So far they haven't said anything to me, and I hope it stays that way.
For shaving I use a Gillette Mach 3 that I've had forever, no shaving cream, but I shave in the shower. For trimming my gotee I've use a Norelco electric. I used to use that for shaving as well, but Gillette sent me a Mach 3 in the mail sometime years ago and I tried it and found I liked that better, so I've been using it ever since.
I don't shave very often any more, but when I do, I use a manly razor. None of that wimpy new fangled stuff for me. Blade refills are 6 for $2. I've used this one for 20+ yrs. Old habits die hard. I think I still have a can of Burma Shave around somewhere.

hate is such a strong word. i think there are a couple of fanatical religious and political zealots who intensely dislike me. but i can't blame them, if i were an extremist i wouldnt like me either.
When I was active duty I had to shave every day, and the only razor that I could stand to use was the Mach 3 turbo. The regular Mach 3 is decent but the turbo has that extra strip that truly makes a difference. They are pricy though but I had no choice in the matter, one blade usually last about 2 weeks before it was done.
One thing I do is run the blade under steaming hot water for about 30 seconds before I use it. Seems to make it a little smoother. I also use cold water on my face when I am done to close my pours.

i use mach 3, sometimes i get the turbo blades sometimes i just get the reguar blades, i hate buying blades, there so damned spendy!!
for lube i just bought a can of Aveeno with oatmeal for sensitive skin, ive used it twice now and like it,
am i the only grown man who cant grow a full beard? ill be 26 on wed, i have full hair on my sides and under my chin, but i dont have hardley hair on my upper lip or on my chin untill Under my chin
and i have a spot on my cheek where hair dont grow, its kinda dissapointing, i couldnt grow a Goate if i wanted to,
I use the Gillette M3 Power with Edge Advance (the clean kind) gel.. I guess I'm the only person who uses the M3 Power? Anyway, I've tried the quattro, and it cut the crap out of my face several times. My combo works really well for me, and I'll never go back to any other type of razor..
