Where is this glass at?

If it is in the northern hemisphere then it would be half full because X(T^6+4)/8.234-P = M(N+I)

it would depend on whether you measuring as you fill it, or measuring while your pouring it out / drinking it.

If its being filled up, when its to the middle, id say its half full, If your pouring it out it would be half empty..........Im thinking like Spock..........using logic.

from an engineers perspective, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

the real question is: was it over designed (with 200% of requried capacity?) , or were the requirements not clearly specified?

and when do we begin the design phase of Glass Rev B ?

Edit... Drat! Roger beat me to it.

Depends upon whether it was previously completely empty or completely full. And possibly whether or not refills are free.

It depends on how thirsty I am.
If I'm really thirsty, then it's half-empty.
If I'm not so thirsty, then it's half-full.

Clearly it was a government contracted project, so they had to drag it out as long as they could. Rev. B won't be started until the initial designhas been long outdated and in need of serious repair The engineers working on Rev. B will charge 8X what it cost to build the first one, but it will only cost them half that in materials and labor, though it will take twice as long to build, and only be 5% more efficient

The glass is full... maybe half full of one component, but it's completely full taken it's presence in an atmosphere.

The glass is almost completely empty, even a liquid is mostly empty space... the gaseous mix of the atmosphere sitting on top of that liquid is made of of even more empty space.

OK , After much thought and deliberation ,
Heres the skinny.
If the level is going down as in "Beer" it,s half empty.
If the level is not going down as in "Urine Sample" it,s half full.
How do you view your glass?

He HE!!!! reminds me of a tale somebody told me about drinking during the world war 2...There was a shortage of glass, so if you went to a bar for a drink, you had to take your own glass with you.One guy was at the bar,and after consuming a few drinks, had an urgent need to visit the mens room.He looked at his glass, which was over half full, and thought he didn´t want to leave it on the bar whilst he went to the toilet, in case somebody drank his drink whilst he was gone...so he asked the bar tender for a pen and some paper, and wrote " I have dribbled in this drink", and placed it on top of the glass, and went to the toilet. To his dismay, when he went to pick up the piece of paper on top of it, he saw somebody had written under his message
"SO HAVE I!!!!"

Logically speaking, the answer is yes

logical OR is true when either condtion is met - and its true when both conditions are met

you could also say, the glass is half empty AND half full

for only one condition to be true, the glass would have to be more than half empty, or half full. When a glass is 3/4 full it is also half full

but the logical statement : is the glass half empty or half full would still be true: because its more than half full

so the logical answer to the question is: yes.

in fact, its always yes. Even when the glass is completely empty (then its also half empty), and when its completely full (its more than half full)

so: Yes!

As presented, I would think that the <or> logic here can be only one answer.
The question cannot be answered "yes", sorry.

Since empty implies an absolute condition or "zero" amount of a quantity,
half of zero is zero, so the half empty status is non-logical.

The glass is half full.
Besides, I'm an optimist and always look on the better sides

if you have a fifo memory device, there are flags that set when it is almost empty, or completely empty. You can set the almost empty pointer where you want. if you set it for half empty, then the flag will be set when the device is half empty, half empty - 1, 3/4 empty ... all the way to (and including) completely empty.

BTW, logic equations always resolve to one of two conditions: true or false (yes or no)

so the statement: HF or HE = T (or yes) is correct (its either (at least) half full, or (at least) half empty, or both)

to put it another way, if I need to put 5 gallons of gas in a tank, and your fiero tank is empty, then it is also half empty - so I can put the 5 gallons in there. Is half this tank empty? yes/

I don't think you are interpreting the question correctly.
This is a condition of the glass question.

He could have as easily asked:
"Is Ken W. a man or a woman?"

Would you like to answer "yes" to that question, Ken?
Disclaimer:
It is entirely coincidental that Ken posted his comment:
the two brothers that made the matrix series

one needs the money for his sex change operation

they get paid by the number of DVDs sold

come on, buy the set - its for a good cause!
in the topic https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum6/HTML/028924.html
I read this topic first!

Besides, ask anyone how much gas they have in their tank.
How many will tell you they are 3/4 empty? or 1/8 empty?
They'll tell you how much they have, not how "empty" their tank is.

Half of empty (zero) is still zero.
Half full is correct!!
