Interesting sandwich, as I work at KFC, our location doesn't have bacon strips. But anyways, yea it gets bad before closing at ours, we're trying to clean up, and don't wanna have to cook more chicken, so if there's old chicken still available, as in way over the expiration limit, your still getting it. We don't wanna be left in the restuarant till midnight cleaning, just because we need fresh chicken. Of course when we pull the chicken off the racks, if any chicken is visible that it didn't cook, then its thrown away right away. But either way. NEVER SHOW UP RIGHT BEFORE CLOSING!!!!!!!!! IT PISSES EVERYONE OFF!!!!!

The sandwich is a big crunch addon here called "club it" (that is what the bacon & cheese is). It was not at closing.. My recipt shows 10:23PM and the KFC was open until 11pm. Do you think they did this on purpose?
So.. to have safe to eat food.. that is not dangerous to eat..what is the latest someone should show up? and if someone dont want to work at KFC and treat MY FOOD THAT I BUY TO PAY THEIR WAGES WITH SOME RESPECT they shouldnt work there.
And if this had been a kid eat this in the backseat of a dark car on the drive home.. they may not have known enough not to eat it..Stuff like this is dangerous!!!!!!!
If I had seen my daughter bite into this (even though shes too young yet ) I would have been even more pissed then now..

No, it wasn't done on purpose. Sometimes raw chicken can looked fully cooked on the outside, but of course be raw on the inside. It happens sometimes with strips, and such, just take it back, and complain, you'll usually get free food as my manager says to "shut the people up."

At my restuarant, I say to show up before 8, our lobby closes at 9, and drive through closes at 10. Extra Cripsy, and Original Chicken is good for an hour and a half after it comes up from the fryer. Usually we do have to have some more chicken come up around 8:30 to handle all the people that come through drive through. Strips are good for 45 minutes, and biscuits are good for 1 hour.

No one cares, Our head manager cares, but the assistant managers don't when he's not there.
Honestly the food is good, but you should come in when its very slow, don't come in when everyone comes in at 6, when that happens, we can't keep up with all the chicken that goes out, and you'll be stuck waiting.

When the girl took it out of the fryer (if it was even still on) she shook it on the thong and had a weird look on her face, almost like she knew it wasnt cooked completely..but just didnt care....
Sorry, I don't care what KFC staff says... I no longer eat there even if it is the only place open. KFC died years ago as far as I'm concerned. I won't eat at combined KFC/Taco Bell etc either. Some remarks in this thread just reinforce how bad KFC really is.
KFC Quality died with the Colonel. It was dieing before that but either he didn't know or couldn't stop it. KFC prices have always been a tough sell but th lack of quality made it a no brainer... No Eat Here. Saddly Wendy's is sinking to the same level. Many regions were bad before Dave Thomas passed but the situ has only goten worse since. None of these big chains care if they kill people with thier food. It's all down to how much they make, and even worse with the ones that are publicly traded.
Replacement food doesn't cut it when Chicken is well known for Fecal Coliform and other serious food born toxins. There is absolutely NO excuse for serving raw or under cooked chicken. Raw or under cooked ground beef is just as bad but most fast food burgers are so thin that it is nearly imposible to serve them that way.
If you want "safe" food, don't eat at the big chians. Not just KFC but Benigans, Bob Evans, and all of them. They all treat employees like crap. I've gotten to the point that if I can't see them cook/make my food I won't eat there in many cases. I've gotten such crappy service and cold food from Bob Evans that I won't ever eat there again. (This is from both stores near me.)
Don't think your work cafeterias are any safer... I've seen Aramark staff do all sorts of things. Wood is not that great but Aramark is worse. Comon Example: Soup that is nearly always at wierd temperatures. Serving temp is important not only for taste but safety. Food that stands at the wrong temperature for just an hour or two can be dangerous.

aramark is the worst of all cafeteria operations, with them its all about the dollar.i worked for them for 9 months before walking out in disgust.as a sous chef ive seen some nasty stuff. sodexho is really good when its a subadized account.all 13 of my employees have digital thermo's and i make them temp ALL FOOD cold or hot 12 times and record it all on a temp data sheet.cold food at 38 degrees or lower and hot at 155 or higher.if it isnt it gets fixed right away or thrown away..no exceptions. i know the 3500 people that eat there i hold in my hand as far as food goes.90% of my customers i know what their allergie's are and what thier diets are...thats my job. so many places have went down hill because thier employees just dont care, but some places the employees started out caring but were looked down upon as lowly servants that they lose the will to care.i know ive been there.getting no respect no matter how good you do can burn you out in food service quickly. raw anything should never happen,ALL food must be temped out.
keep the sandwich(in fridge) and receipt.call the health department first thing on monday or if you have the time go down to the HD.they have to shut them down for no less than 24hours pending a health review.the person who did it will lose thier job and will be put on record for it,making it just a little harder to get a job in the food service again. if i lived closer i'd stop over and shut down that kfc myself. shane

Your responses in this thread really show your age and level of responsibility. Who gives a crap if you have to stay late cleaning up. Is that not your job? You have basicly said that this is common practice, and acceptable at that. Also you placed blame on (whatever his name really is) for showing up so late. When in actuality it is employee incompetince, lack of care and laziness. The same can be said for the management with the inclusion of lack of control of the employees. If the restaraunt is open until 11:00 they better damn sure serve edible food until 11:00.
I think you should call this in to the health department. That is unacceptable.

Wow... I agree with the others. I hope they fire your ass for that kind of attitude. I never liked it at my old job when people ordered hard to get parts when I was closing, but i did it cause IT WAS MY JOB..

how long does it seriously take to deep fry a piece of breaded chicken??? 4.5 minutes to do it right?? if you have a job do it right, whether it be shovelling crap, or making burgers........if the door's open till 10, expect people there till 9:59:59pm........................tell your boss that it pisses you off when paying customers show up before closing. if that's your work ethic, please stay away from all mechanical/industrial/delivery jobs.....you're a liability to any company with a mindframe like that
BTW if I remember correctly most of these KFC/TB/PizzaHut chains have an 800 number posted for complaints.
So, right after you call the health dept (yes call them for the reasons you stated. What if it had been a small child in the back seat who didn't know better!!!) Call the 800 number and inform them as well.
PS for what it's worth this will probably end up in some min wage teenager getting canned because they were more concerned about getting out of there at exactly 10 instead of doing their job, but it will lay some serious heat on the Gen Mgr so the place will be safe to eat at for about 3 months.. (we had the same problem with a local KFC about a year ago..)

I managed restraunts for 13 years. Do you think Damn when You get an order a couple minutes befor close after a 12 hr day....Yep! But you smile take their order, make them it exactly what they came for and thank them for thier business! That's the job dude. I've fired people for less. Trust me I Manage a Domino's and I deal with some serious drunk Pain in the ass's at night....but you still gotta do their job.
We don't have any kfc/taco bells around here. I had never heard of them being together. Thier actually remodeling all of ours to be a kfc/long john silvers.

It takes upto 5-6 minutes to make 8 chickens ready for the fryer, 16 minutes to cook. Strips take about 4 mins to make. 4 minutes to cook, extra crispy takes about 5 mins also, and 15 minutes to cook.
"tell your boss that it pisses you off when paying customers show up before closing"
They don't care either.
When I first started, I cared for what I did, I was happy that I got a job finally, but like a post mentioned above, I was looked down upon by the managers, and other staff. As some may remember my other thread from a while ago. The basic idea by everyone, is to get out by 10:30 PM. I myself try to keep everything safe, and the chicken like I said is kept safe. But with like my one manager, he swears and curses like a drunken sailor if people keep constantly coming in. I don't, but get tired of all the people that come in. If the health department gets in on that sandwich, its possible that the employee would be fired, but probably won't be. If anything, its the managers that should be fired. We're treated like crap.

Its the basic attitude of everyone that works there at my restuarant.

The KFC in my town has good food but they always try to short you on your order, particularly if you're getting things for several people. Without fail, the bag will be missing a mashed potato, or a biscuit or two, or a cole slaw. Every time! I long ago decided it must be store policy to do this and am always careful to check my order before leaving. Of course they always apologize and give me whatever I'm missing. But you know there's always people who drive home and don't notice something's missing until they open the bags.
We used to have a Brown's Chicken here that was excellent; they had a partnership with a Down's Syndrome halfway house and hired a number of their residents over the years. They were always attentive and hard working, and they never made the type of mistakes the teenagers down the street at KFC do. Unfortunately they closed several years ago and left the chicken market to KFC.

If you're treated like crap, take it to the labor board because employees have rights........sorry to hear that your boss yells and treats you like crap.....hey wait! my boss does that too, and his boss, (points to the left) and their boss, (points to the right)............if his quality of work is as good as that sandwich, then report him.......stand up to your boss, don't drop down to his level......
I once had a boss that did not care about her job or the quality of the work she performed. She only cared about how she wasnt payed enough to deal with this kind of stuff.
I have her job now, making more than $100 a week more than she was. If someone at my job, granted we dont sell cooked food, except for at the BBQ stand, had sold that sandwich knowinlgy, I would have fired them on the spot. I dont care what time they get out of there, the job needs to be done, and be done correcty.

Our town has some kind of refugee program and is infested with somalis. I'm not racist, but their attitude to everone and everything is just terrible, and KFC tends to hire only them. One night, we went to KFC near closing, 1030 sounds about right, and ordered a meal. My friend got his order, looked it over, and noticed something different about his gravy. There was something of different color floating in it. Smelled it, poked it. Sure enough, a nice sized luggy. I would never go there again, no matter what time it is.

I think the police would have been alerted if this had happened to me, not because I called them, but because someone would have had some boot-pie.
I called the KFC today, spoke to the manager, he "insisted" that it was "marianting juice" and not raw chicken.. He said raw chicken is white???? I explained what it looked it and gave him the url to the pics on my server, he seemed VERY interested in the address to the pics once I told him I had photos online.. He offered me a free meal and also a meal for the person who bit into it.. (offering one free meal for the guy who bit into that is just a kick since he ALREADY paid for that meal he didnt get to eat!) I told him that was not acceptable and that I was going to contact the health dept.. He got pretty angry after that and said that there is not much more he can talk to me about if I am taking that route. Guess I will see what happens monday
KFC, Taco Hell, Pizza S_ut, and a few other brands were Pepsico owned. They are now under Yum! Brands. In some areas you will see single brand stores and in others various combinations of the them.
As I said before I tend to avoid all fast food places these days. God knows what you will get in the bag. Even before that, I started avoiding drive thru windows. Drive thru has been even more screwed up than counter service for a long time. And I mean 15-20 years.
As for those 800 complaint numbers... so what... That doesn't make up for shabby service up front. It sure as hell doesn't make up for food that could literally kill you. You might think that fast food would have had a wakeup after the Jackass in the Box fiasco but they have learned absolutely nothing. Most if not all these companies are publicly traded and even the ones that aren't only care about how much cash they can screw you out of.
I was a long time fan of Wendy's. I stopped eating at all the local stores (all Delaware Valley stores) mainly because they constantly shorted your order. Dave would roll in his grave if he really knew how bad Wendy's stores are in many places. I strongly believe he would have thrown a fit long ago if he really knew what was going on.
I've worked in food service and been thru some formal food sanitation training. Even without that it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know when food service people are screwing you in major ways. Raw or undercooked food is NEVER acceptable but there are plenty of other things they can do wrong. I could spend days listing things I've seen.
Aramark... They apparently don't have any problems operating illegal scales. Never buy anything that is sold by weight. In DE and PA I've worked at a few places served by Aramark and all the scales have multiple issues like off level, missing state inspection seals, objects on or against the scale top, and not even zero'd out. God only knows what the true weight of your purchase is. Considering that they charge from 20-30 cents per ounce just one ounce error can be significant if you eat allot of sallad. I know of at least 6 Aramark scales right now that are all in DE inspection seal violation.

Over the summer i worked at a Cub Scout camp. They served up some pretty nasty stuff. I dont know where they got their food service but it was weird. During 'staff week' when we would stay and set stuff up and such, the food was excelent. BUt as soon as the campers came it started going downhill, and fast. They cooked the food in the warming ovens until it was dry and salty as all hell. They made stew and used a cream of mushroom soup base, they served hamburgers that (as many of us put it) were still mooing. In the freezers there was raw food sitting on the floor. Under the bread trays were bug colonies. They would put dirty socks on the bread while it was on the racks. The health inspectors came and we failed so bad it wasnt even funny. I think 50 is passing, in previous years we scored up around an 80, that year the score was somewhere around 15-20.
Complaining doesnt do much good. You have to skip the middle man and go straight to the people at the top, thats the only way.

In my opionion you should have just accepted the free food and the apology. Unless the health department has gotten multiple complaints from that location thier not going to investigate. simply put..A raw chicken sandwich is nasty and you should complain but at the end of the day it is just a chicken sandwhich. I think the managers apolagy and offering of free food was more then enough. I guess I just got better thing to do in my life then get so upset over a sandwhich.

Think raw chickens bad? There was a "Jack In The Box" near me when I was a teenager. The HD shut it down because they, HD insp., caught a kid taking a wiz in the pickle jar! That made BIG news in my neighborhood!
Then there was a time when I got a "Western Bacon Double Cheese Burger" from Carl's JR. When I opened the box I saw a few of those piss nats walking around on the inside. I started looking over my food and found some others of those nats deep fried on my french fries!
Anyways, yes I would complain to the HD. There may have been other complaints and your 1 complaint may be the one to get them out to to do an inspection!

An apology is great, however it would not do it for me. If the attitude of the workers is anything like 1985FieroGt, I would run to the health dept and lodge a complaint. All an apology would do in my mind is allow this to happen to someone else, and we all know how bad raw chicken can be... if not... "It can kill you"
BTW: I would never accept anything from a resturaunt that served me raw chicken
