So it appears that there are no salvage spots on island. Google and 411 have been no help, and it appears that every business that buys junk cars here just melts them down. I realize that real estate is premium here and that Hawaiians are particularly picky about pollution and all that, but I figure somebody here has to be making a living off old parts. So if there are any current or former residents reading this, you are my last hope. Is there a junkyard anywhere on this island??? I'm looking to swap my tired 2.8 out for a 3.4.

When we were on Oahu a few years back I was surprised at the number of obviously abandoned cars beside the road. I'm not talking Road Warrior carnage, but four or five cars on Pali Hwy and Kamehameha Hwy. Maybe that explains it; nowhere to dump them?
