Lately, quite a few Fiero owners are purchasing V8Archie's chop top kit. Some are about to perform the work themselves while others are taking their Fiero to various shops, and/or friends.
Please list your chop top here. Dates of purchase, start and possible completion. Please, no dreamers, just doers.
However, I would like to ask a few question(s): Do you prefer a numbering system? If so, this would make it easier for all to keep track like dates of purchase, start and completions, and so forth.

Bought my glass on Mar. 17 2010 before the kit was available. I was going to do a home-brew using the glass, but then bought the rest of the kit on Aug. 5 2010 when it became available.

We'll need pictures too and by all means before pics. I'm viewing this thread as important (same as numbering system). Documentation is one thing, but sometimes encouragement is very, very important. Viewing others performing the task at hand can be very productive. We already know that there's at least 26 original choptops by V8Archie from the shop were made, but how many kits will be sold. Also time frame. What years produced the most sold kits. Personal history too can aid in the process for many have found out by friends or never looked at a chop top until one entered a shop. I'm curious if those at the OutLaw shop in VA were influenced. I know I was influenced by viewing the Great Blue Chop top and then #010. Who knows how many will be influenced by witnessing the kit.

I purchased my full Archie choptop kit and rockers on 02/25/2011, I am planning to start the chop around the second weekend of april snow permitting?? but no later than the first weekend in may. Do do we post progress pics here? ill be doing a build thread once I get going on it currently its in storage at 86soon3.4s house 50 miles form here so I need to wait for the snow to go!! Before chop pic:
Oh and yup id like to see a numbering system, I am curious how many choptops there is totall between the archie ones and everyone else combined I think for insurance reasons alone it would be a good thing to know if one would ever have to be replaced in cases of theft or somthin. or they will just low ball ya as a reg fiero.

Now to name the car, it seems all the chops have a nick name what should I call it?? also my cd from Archie for the rockers isnt opening the file for the directions so if u have them how did you hold them down to the door sill? ther is no reccess for the rivits like the stock rockers do I just body glue them down? the rest is pretty easy to figure out.

Cool. Are you doing the chop yourself or help from others? As for the naming your future choptop you have figure out what type of modifications and whatever you think best fits the end result or you could just use the numbering system.

Mine (#015) was installed by V8Archie prior to leaving his shop. Call Archie on Monday. He might be able to resolve your issues over the phone.

I need to call V8Archie for dates and purchases of the kit (I forgot to ask the last time I talked to him). If (by all) feel that the "date" purchase is the best way-then "make it so." IMHO I think the purchase date should the ideal way of going about.
Oh yeah, I'm glad you bought the kit.

Well, I bought mine on April 12th, 2011. But if I remember the conversation with Archie correctly, I have the 9th kit. Don't know if that helps. BTW, the chop should be started around third week in May. Best luck to all the other choppers out there!

Thanks. Your date of purchase helps. I'll call Archie on Wednesday to see if he has a list-I'm sure he does.

Some of the nicknames given a chop top car appear to depend on the color the car is painted. What color(s) will yours be?

The center cap looks like it says "VW" on it, but do you know what year and model of VW they're from? (I'd think they'd look good on a chop top Fiero with tires having a lower-than-stock sidewall profile.)

I just talked to V8Archie. He thinks (off hand) that there's at least 12-kits sold so far. If Archie has time he might provide a list of the dates.
12 kits! I thought for some reason he only had 10, that means I'm not number 9 Well, I was going to name the car anyway, but keep me informed if you figure out where I stand. (I know, I know, still unchopped), does anyone know if anyone has a fiero named the "AZKid"? O/T....

I was talking to Archie on Tuesday and I forgot. I'll ask him on Friday.
I may have to Give Archie a call soon too, I am getting bored with the rockers I think its maby time to go ahead and widebody the chop, I like the look of the door opening on the widebody rockers better as it slants down instead of the shelf look
