The plug is almost done. Just a few minor touch-ups and I'll be ready for some glass.

Nice...I'd like to see it on the car....Are you going with a rear wing/spoiler?

I wont be putting the stock spoiler on. I'll probably opt to leave it naked or put on one of those lip spoilers.

I don't want it to look too busy.

I can't speak for him, but my stang scoop would allow 6 computer fans in it.

I haven't really planned for fans, but I'm open to suggestions. Seems like it might be a neat idea.

I'm not sure yet. I'm working today making the mold. So, there will be the ability to make more parts off of it if the need arises.

Just a quick update. I got more supplies in today. Hopefully I'll have the mold popped off by this evening.

It is out curing right now as I type.

Same here. I hope everything turns out good.

I know its going to take me a bit longer. This is only my second fiberglass piece and the first that I've made a mold for. I know I'm going to have to solve imperfections in the mold. Not looking forward to it, but I got myself plenty of sandpaper!

It is outside curing right now.

Meanwhile, I'm putting together a crib for my new baby boy.

I popped the mold off today. As I expected, it is far from perfect. I will have to do some touching up before I make a part from it, and even then, that part will need some touching up before it is ready to go on the car looking pretty.

Here is the aftermath of the plug and mold being taken off of the decklid. Poor fella cant wait for his new makeover.

Overall, I'm happy with how it turned out, being my first part and all. The most difficult part is where the vents round up underneath the part. I'm not looking forward to sanding that part, nor am I looking forward to pulling a part from it.

I had to make that part of the mold after I had already pulled the mold because it would have been near impossible to pull the mold if I would have layered the fiberglass underneath it. Even then it took about 30 minutes of flexing and coaxing to get it off.

I start EMT school on Tuesday so my progress, already at a slow pace as it is, will be a bit slower.

I really want to take my time on fixing the imperfections so I can have a nice looking part in the end. I know this piece is going to look good on the car. I just need to get it right!
