Thanks for sharing pics, that makes threads 10 times as exciting. Oh, and that hole in the bodywork, looks like a great place to put a side scoop! Anyway, welcome to the forum!

Same here man, so much that I want to do to mine: lower it, a GT nose, center console subwoofer, short-throw shifter, new steering wheel, plus a new paint job... But my parents say college comes first... So I guess I'll just keep it running for now, and drop the big bucks on it later.

Welcome to the forum.

Yeah man, you don't desecrate an '85 GT like that. Go kick yourself.

Seriously, very nice car man, I am a huge fan of '85 GTs, and would love to own one someday.

85 GT's are the 1st year for the Gt and the only year for the GT notchback the SE's from 86 and 87 are basicley the same thing as the 85 GT but badged diffrentley. The 85 SE V6's were the only V6 bumper pad style from the factory. The 86-88 GT's were fastbacks linke in my sig below (i swear my life by them) other than the fastbackl and a few interior perks theres not much of a diffrence in them. Id say the 85 Gt's were uncommen because of the fast they were the only non fastback GT ever to hit the market. but there not say INDY rare. I like notch backs to. My 1st fiero was an 86 notchback SE V6 but i turned it into a fastback.

What year SE parts car did you buy. Just because the car is an SE doesn't necessarily mean it will have the aero body. 85-86 SEs could be bumperpad or aero body styles. Let me know if it does not have the panels you need, and I can hook you up with one cheap.

That will all fit. You would have a problem with the headlight motors if the parts car was an 87 as the put the gen 2 style headlights in them but your fine with an 86. If you go flushmounts id sugest Kris munsons kit. Heres the set I have on my car. There $300 per kit without hid's $400 with HID's They require no modifacation to put in and you only have to tap one wire into your fan switch relay wire to make them work correctley. Icv had them for 2 years and dispite the fact i got pulled over for them last night (he just wanted to see the car) I absoluteley love them.

Heres my car with them on it below
Again there made by Kris Munson Jimmy S with fiero fibreglass has the info on getting a hold of him i beleave

Not entirely true there, Rick. It could be an '86 V6 SE and still be a bumperpad. 2M6?

It might. Some 86 4 cylinders came with the aero package some dident. Its uncommen to find one. Does it have the same front bumper that you have on your 85?

A 4 cylinder will most likely not have the aero package to it. Your upper clip will be the same, but your lower quarter will not have the mounting holes for the aero moulding.

Can you give us the VIN so we can decode it for you. A GT (if i heard you right, this is an '85 you are speaking of) is the 2.8L V6, the SE is the 2.5L 4cyl.

Also, that way we can make sure it gets registered in the VIN database (if you want of course)

BTW, WELCOME!!!!!

If your replacing the clip than yes there all the same. if its a bumper pad than your lower 1/4 pannels and rockers will be diffrent if it has the aero package than they will be the same.

ok ill have to be sure to look and make sure, if its different im probably gonna go ahead and buy it though anyway because if not parts then i have another awesome fiero! but i may sell it depending if it has a title or not. the 4 cylinder in it runs but really rough and it has some axle issues is what the guy told me about the parts car.

True. Id say if it has a title get it fixed and sell it. It will be worth a whole lot more running and driving than it will be not running. People tend to think less of a fiero when its sitting. beleave me i know i have 3 of my own.
