Just curious if anyone has seen a percentage of Fieros broken down by color for the full production run. I have been shopping Fieros for a number of weeks now, and have run across a ton of black GT's for sale. By far the most abundant color!

From Mark Corbin's Fiero Spotter's Guide...

1988 Black:
GT = 1424 produced
Formula = 1106
Coupe = 2072

Total built = 26,402 all colors, all models
17% were black

Update:
I sent an email to Mark Corbin and he responded with the following: He didn't sound confident in the accuracy of the numbers, probably why he didn't include them in the FSG.

"I DO have *some* numbers on earlier years. Don't recall the source, but even the numbers I have aren't totally accurate. So I don't know if the numbers are from GM. BTW, according to that info source, there were (supposedly) 8402 black Fieros produced in '87, 21,216 in '86, and 20,620 in '85..."

1987 Black:
All models ~ 8402
Total built = 46,581 all colors, all models
~18% were black

1986 Black:
All models ~ 21,216
Total built = 83,974 all colors, all models
~25% were black

1985 Black:
All models ~ 20,620
Total built = 76,371 all colors, all models
~27% were black

1985 thru 1988 Black:
All models ~ 54840
Total built = 233328 all colors, all models
~24% were black

PS: I didn't forget the '84s, Mark didn't provide any numbers for them.

If black, red, and gold make up 101%, then the silver ones must be a figment of our imagination.

Thanks for the stats RickN.

I contacted Mark Corbin via email and he sent me some more information. Mark wasn't sure enough of the numbers to include them in his guide so treat them as unofficial. I updated my previous post with them.

Thanks, good catch! I used the coupe total number instead of the total for all models. I updated the numbers.
