Well This happend about 2 months ago, I was coming back from a party and I had decided to drink a beer, On the way home a Acura RSX was driving a long side of me and was keeping up with me, I was going 70 mph around that time. Well anyways I kept going faster and noticed the guy was giving me some crazed looked... So I punched it! When later on I noticed I was going 115! and then soon it became 120mph. Then I noticed my little speedo meter hitting the little stopper from going any further. I was suprised to see my fiero go that fast and happy! So I left the RSX in the dust and decided to keep pushing my car... Well me being stupid I almost hit an 18 wheeler. In doing I slammed my brakes and decelerated by shifting down. Saved my life, Well then I noticed every drivers nightmare, SOme pretty looking Blue and Red lights were flashing behind me... Long story short I got my car impounded, Got Clocked in at 96 mph, I had a BAL of .02 and since im only 17 I was considered DUI. So now my liscence is suspended for a whole year, and my fine came out 651 dollers and then the impound fine was around 250. Never AGAIN!!!!

Well... lesson learned... but remember, it could have been MUCH worse. Also.... why would you even consider drinking a beer at 17 and then drive? Welcome to the world of high insurance prices now.

I've revoked your "FTW" (for the win) privileges for using it at an inappropriate time. The cops taught BIGG_SEXXY a lesson and it's not really funny, people could've seriously been injured.

The day you can enforce that revocation, I will stop using it.

I guess now no one here has ever done that. Those who didn't most likely never had a chance to have a car at that age, never had a chance to enjoy a good party and most probably just were not car enthusiast so they would care less if they drive a Camry or a sports car because it would be driven like a horse carriage anyway. All teenagers do stupid things. Most don't get caught nor cause nothing. Some do. Give the guy a break. No one learns on other's experiences.

Nope I have NEVER drank and drove. even a single beer.

Yes I had 2 cars at 17, 1 was my project car I had worked on for 3 years (a VW super beetle) and a 1984 Mercury Capri RS turbo I bought that was 1 year old. I went to lots of parties (never was stupid enough to drive my baby as teenagers at parties are incredibly retarted and like to stand on cars, dent hoods, scratch paint, etc....) I saved all my money for 1 year to buy that car. I lost 2 friends in highschool to drinking, driving, speed and stupidity. 1 was drunk on his motorcycle and hit the back of a stopped semi truck so hard they never found most of his body. He left a 500 foot skidmark with his rear tire on dry pavement, the cops think he was doing over 120 when he hit the truck, they recovered his head and unclipped the helmet from the bike. My other firend drank only 2 beers and then slammed his Jetta into a tree, he lost it on a curve at 70mph, he was a pile of hamburger. both of those friends I miss dearly even today, but will admit they were certianly not very bright. The one on the bike had his license revoked and was caught speeding many times. His brother killed himself trying to race a train to a crossing, he lost, the train won.

you say, "No one learns on other's experiences. "

You are dead wrong. I learned by seeing stupid close friends die.

I don't think it was dumb. The beer thing......yes. But having fun and showing others what you got!......no. I hate how so many people complain about racing. If you wanna do it, and get killed....go ahead. Dusting people with "great cars" who think they are the shiznet, is the coolest! And i'm a teenager, so i'd it. If you don't and wanna.....then don't. No joke that you could have been injured. You don't have your liscense for now. I got mine taken back, and i got it back. It's not the end. I would die to have some Fiero's that you guys got. Instead, i have a 87 GT that dosn't even work right!

I'm going to put this very bluntly. I will be flamed, and I will get negatives for it, and I don't care.

When you race on the road, you endanger your life and the lives of everyone else around you. All the people just trying to get home, all the husbands going to see their wives, all the mothers driving their childen to school, all the teens looking forward to seeing their friends later in the day.
I hope your stupidity kills you before it kills innocent people.

At least you've shown yourself "a man" by posting your embarrassment.... and you've learned your lesson. On Tuesday, I was cruising at 70-73 MPH and some guy in a black car was jamming down the freeway at 80+. A CHP was heading in the opposite direction. The officer turned around and nailed him.

For those of you who think that the laws of physics don't apply to you......

Ever heard of the "Darwin Award?" If not then Google it - because if you keep it up you may just win yourself one. Unfortunately for you the award will be posthumous.

Alot of my friends drive while they were drinking earlier (all underage as well) one spent the night in jail his first time. My other probbaly does it monthly, not that its any better but he never speeds, never goes over 50 for the matter and always seems content when we does.

I know where you are coming from, I was caught racing before. I pledded with the cop, and luckly for my ass it paid off. I ended up getting a 'basic speed' ticket and violation of restricted license (16 at the time, 2 weeks before my 17th) I got off the violation part and just had the basic speed ticket. I got off extremely easy for what I was doing. But the point is, I stop doing it. Its changed me enough where I could easily write the officer that pulled me over and thank him for how he handled me at the time. In a way it was one of the best things that happened to me.

On another side note: I was on the phone with Troy and the same young kid with the crappy Mit 3000 reaves his engine and drives up and down my block. I guess I'm surpose to run out of my house and race him till there's no end?

The guy made a mistake and is now being punished from the consequences of his actions. However, I see nothing wrong with drag racing or going over 100MPH AS LONG as you do it on an isolated road away from everybody and everything that could be put in harms way. When I smoke the tires I just make sure it is on an isolated highway where no one is around.
Next time you want to "clean out the pipes" head out to the Nevada desert where there are miles of roads with nothing on both sides or head to the drag strip. You are certainly entitiled to take risks, but you are not entitiled to subject others to these risks.

Those have to be some of the most ignorant statements I've heard on here. How can you possibly say racing on PUBLIC roads only endangers the driver? Just look at fierofetish's recent incident with people racing on the highway.

It's people like you that give us teens a bad rep.

Just because some dumb ass kills himself/herself and the other person(s) walk away doesn't mean they walk away with out scars. I believe more area's should have the law and power to take these vehicle's and let the owner's watch them being crush. Sounds like a good spectator's sport to me, better than when I used to go to the Lands and Forest gun auction in Truro and drive up the bid on guns that I could tell the convicted deer jackers were trying to buy back.

Look, i'm not one to argue on the computer.....and i think it's pretty pathetic that you do so. I was just saying my thoughts on how he beat the guy. I didn't say "who cares, kill everyone". Your acting like i'm a driving bomb on the road or suthin. Do you think i would not care if someone racing killed my family?! Cause if you do, i think your sick. I understand everyhting. I'm just saying. Cool that you beat him. I clearly said the beer thing is dumb too! So stop arguing on the computer, and get over that you misunderstand me!

I doubt you'll get flamed for that statement, you earned a + from me, you spoke the truth. I'll admit that I've done some really dumb things while driving. Somehow, I haven't killed anyone and I'm still around to talk about it. We all do things in our youth that endangers others and ourselves. I'm not going to condem this 17 year old, I just hope he really has learned his lesson before he kills himself or someone else.

If you have an irresistible urge to drag race... I'm sure that damn near every drag strip across the country features a "grudge night"...or some night when you can your car to the track and run it against the clock and/or your buddies.
It might cost you a few dollars...but I bet it's nothing near $900+ worth of fines and loss of a DL for a year.

As for drinking and driving...definitely not cool.I lost a lifelong friend to a drunk driver a few years ago...and my sister lost her best friend(who was 8 1/2 months pregnant) to a drunk driver about a month ago. Both of the drunk drivers walked away w/o a scratch.

Look at it this way...the cop pulling you over was a blessing.Had you not gotten stopped...you would have gone home...and not given the drinking/driving a second thought. Now you'll think twice before getting behind the wheel with booze in your system.

The year of DL suspension is an inconvenience... but not nearly as much of an inconvenience as a few years behind bars for vehicular manslaughter...or a permanent dirt nap.

Consider yourself lucky...and mark it down as a life lesson learned.

Some aren't as fortunate. This happened over the weekend. Kid just got back from Va Tech. Just be thankful you didn't chlorinate the gene pool.

I don't want to stir up anything more than already has been but...

I along with most car enthuiasts, have driven too fast, or too recklessly and gotten away with it. Most of the time it was done without anyone else around, and in a location where I was the only person to even have a risk of injury. In fact, even knowing what I know now, I still do it. But, even though it's not putting anyone else in "harm's way," just give a quick thought of the poor bastard that will have to come use a garden shovel to remove your carcass from your smashed vehicle in the event of a tire failure, etc.

As a volunteer firefighter that has a major rural highway in my territory; I've seen a few very bad accidents. The worst ones are hard enough to deal with, but I imagine that they'd be harder to deal with, knowing it was not an "accident," but foolishness. I understand that I choose to volunteer, and don't have to see the aftermath if I don't go to a call, but someone somewhere will be rudely awakened at night, or have to leave dinner with their family to come and rescue you from your "harmless fun" that went bad.

Beyond that, learn from the mistake, and don't be afraid to tell others the story of that mistake. Many people don't learn from another's mistake, but if one person does, it will be a worthwhile story to tell.

In short, make the firefighter's jobs a little less busy and stressful. Then we won't have to use so much of our time and our gas, just to save your ass.

I'm not going to pile on. You know that what you did was stupid, and now you have a year to think about what could have happened. I'm just glad that you have a chance to see your 18th birthday and that you didn't take anybody with you.

Made me think about my dad back when I was 17 (I was 17 in 1969) and what he threatened when I got my license. He gave me the lecture about how a car is a tool for accomplishing important work--not a toy. He said, behind the wheel of a 6000 lb car (we had big cars back then) you have the power of 150 horses, and the ability to ruin lives. It was a bottom line rule in our family that if we were caught abusing the priveledge that we would lose our license and (he kept the kid's cars in his name) he would sell our cars, cancel the insurance, and put new tires on the 10 speed in the basement (and that would be how the offending kid would get around.)

I don't have any kids, but if I did, I'd probably have the same set of rules.

I'm sorry you screwed up, happy you were lucky enough to not hurt yourself or someone else, and kinda relieved that you got caught. Wake up, young man! You've been given a second chance, don't screw up again.

Sexxy

Just consider yourself fortunate. At 17 it's all too easy to let your adrenaline and "horimones" get the better of you. You got out alive and did not kill anyone. At seventten you're under age for drinking anything - anywhere - well maybe not France.

You've got a year to ponder things - work on your car - and start saving for the increased insurance costs you'll likely be hit with when you try to renew your insurance. Sorry to hear it happened - but if you learn from this then maybe you'll remove yourself from being a statistic.

In Toronto, there are way too many such races and accidents. At least two a week where nothing reamins of the car - let alone the driver.

I know a volunteer fireman from another board. The thing that bothers him the most is kids that get caught up in it. I think he really spites the people that do it out of foolishness, though. Kinda like "why couldn't you just go out into the woods and shoot yourself instead of leaving a mess for ME to pick up?" spite.

I regularly have a bit of fun on the public roadways. Still, I have a 84 duke, so it doesnt have much top speed. A rule of thumb is to never have even the possibility of killing someone else if you lose it. Otherwise you can just slow your ass down.

Geezs, I just avoided a head-on collision with a green BMW on the PCH. Some young punk was trying to pass slower cars by crossing the white (separated) line. That's perfectly legal if you have enough distant and within speed limit w/o killing yourself and others. I was comming from my lunch break and I'm thinking, "What's wrong with this dude, there isn't enough distant."

I moved over to the shoulder and so did the people behind me although some didn't see him darting out. I tried to wave down a official but, I think he may have thought I was giving him the finger.

Edit: I can't type right now,...I'm mad! They need to take his D.L. for a year!

You made some very, very unintelligent decisions, and I hope you learned from your experience so that you NEVER do that again.
