When you go to replacementradios.com look under pontiac, then it will show you a list of all the radios they have for pontiacs, there they have this unit and an adapter kit for the fiero.....I was just there at the site, and with the adapter the total was 179.00$$...........
Thas a niceeeeee upgrade, I have the tape player version of the same radio, not my install, the previous owner did this, but this is what I am wanting to do after this next coming summer..........

Man, do it. You won't regret it. Have one in mine and absolutely love it. Matches everything too. My car isn't a daily driver and it's still worth every penny. TG

Our Pennock's member, "kru" helped me with this sale. His name is Kevin, he was very helpful to me & answered many questions before I placed the order. Radio was delivered in 3 days.
His email address is radios@replacementradios.com
The installation only took 10 minutes, the included adapters made the swap very easy. No cutting or wiring.
I give him & his company a very high rating. You might think it cost to much, but it was well worth it to me.
This was the stock cassette I replaced.

That radio looks good. If you want a pontiac CD player that looks stock it's the way to go. I have the cassette version in my GT, (but I also had to add DVD in it's own slot above it)

I have a stock tape deck out of a 96 sunfire that is in perfect working order. I took it out of the sunfire at 30k. That was years ago. If anyone is intersted I will easily let it go for $100 shipping included.
It's in my formula as well. The radio comes out of newer pontiac cars, such as 98-00 sunfires, bonnivilles, and grand ams/prixs. This radio has a built in amp in the back of the radio that is Quiet powerful. The EQ is also very nice, and the neew orange display is also a nice touch. The only thing that is a bit of a pain is the adapter. I spent $50 simply because I haad to get it working that very night so I went to best buy, but if you go to Fierosails.com and look under the refrenceses for radios, there are several allready assembled harneses for less. I purchased my first radio ( which was CD EQ all the options) for $99 out of a wrecked '99 sunfire. So for about $130 a VERY decent radio can be upgraded into the fiero. I advise doing it! It's been a great little radio. You need to upgrade your speakers though to appreciate it.
As for adapters, they all work great, but if you are the least bit handy with a pair of wire strippers and you don't mind cutting wires you don't need an adapater for the power and audio. A lot of eBay radios come with the connector, just cut off the stock connector and splice on the new one. Total cost zero. You probably will still need the antenna adapter though.

Looks great! I've got the Monsoon version of that same deck in my Formula. (also got it from Kru at replacementradios.com). Now I need to upgrade the speakers. Mine are blown. (I wonder how?!?! )

CoolBlue87GT, your setup is exactly like mine. I like the orange lighting and the control placement seems natural. Yeah, took me a while to figure out the volume and tuning knobs popped out.

Actually pretty darn good. The equalizer lets you adjust to your needs. I put in "The Phantom of the Opera", cranked it up, was pleasantly surprised.
The new 4 x 10's I put in last month sound great. You mentioned "the factory look", thats exactly why I chose this unit.
Got it from replacementRadios.com
cool....ive got the same radio with the factory sub. what speakers are you using? OT: my wife and say the phantom of the opera in toronto a couple of years ago. we also have the cd set. sounds great in the car and the house stereo.

My buddy had one in his '92 Beretta GTZ. I don't know if GM used those in any Pontiacs. If they did, it would look a lot better as it would light up in red.

three days ?!! Geeze I ordered mine almost three weeks ago and haven't seen it yet. Guess I'd better send an inquiry and find out why.

Dave,
I couldn't agree with you more. I installed same unit from Kru in my daughter's Formula. (Don't tell mom that it is better than the one in her '02 Grand Prix.) His pigtail adapter for a few extra bucks was well worth it. Did have to replace the old 4 x10 stock speakers with Pioneers TS-A4103 from Best Buy for under $100.00. Jeff

Rear speakers stock, Front speakers:
Pyramid 4108GS Bridgeless 3-Way 4" x 10" Speaker System (PAIR) $19.99 (shipping Ground via UPS/DHL - $6.99)
I have all spare parts necessary for connecting the radio controlled steering wheel for sale if any are interested.
I've installed a '95 Grand Am in mine.
I'm still wanting to do this, but I'm a little afraid of taking the upper column apart... You say you have all the parts? How much? This might make a good tech session someday.

I have an entire column. The wheel is in good shape with a good bag.
It would make an excellent tech session and can be done in a couple of hours. I have all the tools and room in the driveway for lots of onlookers. (3 wide)
This is exactly the radio I want in my Fiero, CD, equalizer, nice red glow to go with the rest of the car. And it looks stock, and won't get stolen as easy as an aftermarket radio. Maybe this is what my Fiero really wants for christmas? lol

Go for it . I really like it. The other night I was testing it out, was surprized to hear an AM station from Atlanta GA. (over 500 miles away !)
It has 12 FM presets, and 6 AM preset. Not sure how much power it's putting out, but it's more than enough for the Fiero.

Russ,
As I explained to you shortly after your payment arrived on 11/1, you sent a personal money order, which is essentially the same as a personal check. We had to allow time for it to clear. It was sent to you on the first shipping day after 7 full business days (bank days). Specifically, 11/15. I don't like to take that much time to send out an item but I also don't like taking chances with $175. CoolBlue87GT (and others) got theirs in a flash because they paid instantly with a credit card through Paypal. We ship every Tuesday and Friday from IL, so shipping time is normally VERY short to just about anywhere in the continental US.
For any others interested, if you were planning on sending a money order, please make sure it is a Western Union or Postal Money Order, or similiar. Cashier's checks are also acceptable. The personal money orders that some banks try to give out INSTEAD of Cashier's Checks WILL delay your shipping date.
Thanks for the kind words from everyone else.
Just a few things I'd like to point out to those of you who are interested but are wondering what you get for the money. You get all of this from ONE place:
1) A radio that has been tested and is in good condition w/ Theftlock deactivated 2) A new wiring and antenna adapter package without ANY splices 3) Detailed installation instructions (including Performance Sound installation specifics) 4) Free techinical support, if needed. (But honestly, it's pretty easy with the instructions) 5) Free shipping in the continental US 6) Best of all... a 90 day warranty
Sure, you might be able to put it together cheaper from 2 or 3 places or do it yourself and save a couple bucks, but not much. Is the extra pain in the ass worth it? And are you getting a decent warranty and free installation instructions? And can you trust them? Was theirs REALLY tested? Have they deactivated Theftlock? It's not always about money...
I've got one of those in my SE too. I got the Monsoon version; I'm not sure that there's any difference other than the name on the front panel. Stock performance sound rear sail speakers, new performance sound dash speakers, reconed subwoofer speaker. Sounds very, very nice - my other Fiero has the full Pioneer treatment and I don't know that it sounds any better...

I have an alpine system that has made it's way into 3 different cars including this one. I bought an adapter kit from advance autoparts and I tell you it looks great. I had the wiring adapters from the previous car I had it in, I love Gm using the same radios for the same era cars even though one is a chevy and the other is a pontiac. It made the install much easier. It doesn't look stock by any means, but the sound is so much better I can't complain....oh wait yes I can, I don't have any speakers besides the rear ones!!!
