well yesterday was not such a good day. i show up at a friends house to the sound of a reving engine. its my idiot friend in his dads corvette which he is not allowed to touch. so i say ok this is interesting, i pull up and he tells me he is going down the street to a friends house becouse he parents arnt home and asks me if i want a ride, not wanting to get cought riding in his dads baby i say ill just fallow. so up the drive we go me behind him, now his neiborhood is a long winding road that is wide and not all that many houses on it (note: very fun) well we are going allong at a good clip in a portion of the neiborhood with no houses and he is trying his best to loose me (read: idiot) in his dads vette. i am driving my sbc 88gt so there is no chance of this happening so i just stay with him, then we come to a corner that is slightly down hill and to the right, he gets on it coming out of the corner at about 40-45 and the tail starts to come out on him. so he locks the tires immedietly becouse he just doesnt know how to drive the car and panics. he ended up like this. in a car he isnt even allowed to look at most of the time.

I hate to see a nice Vette get wrecked.Your friend will probably look worse than the car tomorrow.
I would lay low and not go over there for a while.
I agree about how he will look part, but I dis agree about laying low... Heck, I would be hanging out in the bushes to catch the video of the beating...

Reminds me of a certain movie... "I'll take the heat, You dont want this much heat, your dad hates me anyway."
Haha I was about to say this!!! It was on tonight and I watched it for the millioneth(is that word? lol) time Ahh great movie....
Anywho, the day I ever have kids and my kid does this.......well maybe I shouldn't post what I would do cause someone will use it against me in court hahahah j/k lol.
If that was my son, he would be out of the house - some kids don't have any respect for other people's stuff. He needs to be taught a lesson, and I don't mean 'go to your room'. Oh, that makes me really, reeeealy mad.
Poor car. Poor dad. Stupid kid...

Was that pic in a newspaper or somesuch?... I noticed a copyright logo for a newservice?
I haven't seen any of your threads , do you happen to have some pics of your '88? It is sad I can remember cars better than I can remember people... though on this forum I doubt I am the only one Mostly curious if your carb'd or FI, and did you cut the trunk for the exhaust? Home brew, or Archie?
I agree about how he will look part, but I dis agree about laying low... Heck, I would be hanging out in the bushes to catch the video of the beating...
You know what I'd do.. Tie em up and throw em in a river!
Is this thing on?

Unfortunately, that's how we learn. Hope he takes this opportunity to wise up. Hope dad finds a way to hold him responsible for some of the repairs. These actions require consequences.

This happened yesterday? Do you mean on May 31.

I really wonder what goes through peoples minds. I know when I was younger I wasn't allowed to touch my moms car, she thought I was going to reek havoc on it like my brother did with their cars. If he knew from the get go not to touch it I would've never touched it! I can only imagine what was running through his mind when it happened
is it just me or did he knock down a stone wall ont he side of the road and have that wall save the car from going down some embankment into the trees?
Most of the blame is with the parents the way I see it. If theyd given him more of a sense of respect for others and their property, he wouldnt have gotten in it in the first place. My dad never allowed me to drive his car unless he was in it and it never ever crossed my mind to do it. If he was my kid, he would be paying off the total bill for the damage by getting a summer job and working 50 hour weeks to think about it. I wouldnt turn it in for a cent of insurance.

Just throw a little more bondo on the bondo and no one will notice.
Yeah I saw that too. You can see what looks like the color of Bondo on the damaged nose. Looks like it has been repaired before? Unless this was from a PO maybe Dad isn't that great of a driver either

his dad told him he was to upset to do anything to him at this point.
i don't know if i'd like that or not. maybe it's good that he didn't immediatly kill him, but you gotta wonder if he's working up a way to kill him reeeeeel slow, 'cause you know it's not gonna just blow over.
This is a lesson for all car owners with children. Please keep your classic car keys on a seperate key ring locked up in a lock box. I have not done this, but after seeing the pic, and having a couple of boys that are 5 years away from driving, I know where I will be keeping the keys to my Fiero.

1. Tell the absolute truth. 2. Make it seem like the most bogus story. "I swear to god, a flying camel jumped on the roof. It didn't bother me too much because I'm a better driver than Schumaker and I can handle a situation like that, but what really got me is when a bunch of yodeling chinese men lassoed the car and started riverdancing. When that happened, all I could think about was how much I wanted to eat sour cream and corn flakes out of bowling trophies and how much I wanted a pet porcupine so I could name it "Ouch, that really @#$%ing hurts"
