Not too worry. Still a full fledged, card carrying member of the SBC and stick shift club. Just happen to now also own a Fiero/3800/auto combo.
Thanks Honey, best Valentine I ever got. When you told me a while back it was red and I like them a lot, I was thinking more like those huge Red Candy Boxes stuffed full of chocolate ( Incurable Chocolate addict here) I have been trying to avoid at the local Walgreens.
As to the car itself, the conversion was actually done by Tim/ Northstar Fiero. The motor, I was told had made the rounds in the Fiero community and was owned a while back by LowFieroGT. The car (Red 85 coupe) used to belong to Darrell Morse.
Happy Camper here

Ahhh, would not be fair to the little red car to have it compared to the Curse.
It got some guts, nice exhaust note (cat removed) but nothing like the vibrations that makes the bolts fall out of street signs if the Curse sits by it long enough.
The auto is a nice change for now, allows me to multi task while driving. For my taste it goes into lock up mode too soon though, dropping into the lower RPM's and I find myself kicking it down quite often. Which in turn isn't the greatest for the gas milage. That itself could be still one of those hick- ups that need to be further investigated.
As to the motor, came out of a 1988 98 Oldsmobile. Bone stock as far as I know. I'll take some pictures tommorow. Too dark out there now. Besides it's not the cleanest at the moment. We are going thru a snow melting/puddles everywhere episode in Minnesota here at the moment.

BTW ... Revin, ... I thought you guys were the bad guys.

Hey Tina, are you sure that is not a 1998 maybe???? hell I am not even sure they MADE the SC back then. it would be a early series 1(short snout on blower) ser II long snout.
I think the "better" tranny for it will be the 4t65hd. should work better for your...huh heavy foot. ( revin runs and hides!)
P.S. I am only as "bad" as I need to be.

Now, now, now. It's an auto. How could I possibly break that.
I am taking money on mid summer, haha wow Tina that is a hell of a gift. Are we going to see both this summer? By the way hes a bit or did your gift match his?
The Oldsmobile 98 has been around since the 70's. Funny, my parents recently bought a '98 Olds 88. LOL Screwy. Does it say anywhere that Tina has an SC? I didn't read that, unless I missed it. (possible) And I have the same problem with early "lockup" Tina - rather annoying, isn't it?! Feels like I'm in OD when I'm doing 10mph. Hopefully a new GTP program will fix that. (Using a Buick Riviera ECM / program now, and like the 98, it's probably designed for fuel economy and, uh, comfort driving. LOL) Edit for picture of the '88 98:
------------------ Bob Williams Multi-colored '86 Mutt, a work in progress! (3800SC running great! Fixed the bent roof, now I need an intercooler! Yeehaa!)

After all the times I had to wash and wax his plane ( did I mention being required to use Q-Tips on it too) I think I very much deserved it.
No seriously, Greg is a very nice guy and really didn't expect him to get me a valentine of that nature. But he knew that deep down I love these little cars and really missed driving one a daily basis.
Bonus on this one though ... the conversion was already taken care of by Tim. Thanks Mr. Tim.

Good Buy Tina.... Glad to see that engine and trans go to a good home. I put over 5k miles on it with no problems and drove the 88gt back from NY without a problem.

Not to worry GSXRBOBBY, I knew where you coming from.
As to the pics ... it's acting up like any other Fiero. The car decided today was not a good day to get both headlights up and left some antifreeze behind. Nothing big we later found out. Just some old hoses, a reservoir with a small crack and worn out headlight motor. But time consuming enough to delay the pics.
BTW Glad we got all that 98/88 figured out. Thanks for you guys on posting the info. When I was told at first it was a 1988 98. I was like "waawhat" too. What's it's going to be now, 88 or 98. Make up your mind, would you ... please.

Funny, that is the color I was going to change to. Before that I need a few panels though. The plan is to change the look of the car to that of an 86 SE. If anybody has some parts for me LMK, please. Parts needed ... Front and rear clip plus the ground effects.
