How come every time i go out after 9 o'clock some gangsta rap, sideways hatwearin, pimp wanna be teenager , F 's with me like he can whip my a$$ in a race. He pulls up then slows down pulls up slows down, Oh the whole time his lil homie in the passenger seat is laughing like they are punking me . Anyway i humor them and pace with them to like 90 or so. As i get beside them i pointed and laughed hit third and watched the riced out tercel turn to a dim light in my mirror. This happens to me about 4 days out of the week . Does this happen to anyone else? My car IS a beater ,is that what attracts them? Anyway lets here your story.

Right now Im rolling in a Ford Focus ZX3 and I get that crap on a daily basis, maybe cuz it's a compact and so are civics...acourse I get people in Z28's reving their engine at me too. Yup the Z28's suck, I dont have a chance unless it raining and they break down :P But it's just not you and lucky for you, you can shut them up. Soon I say soon! It's oposite with me.... Every riced out civic usually avoids me.... But I had other wierd cars like nissan maximas, Trucks and wierdly 85 to 93 model caddy's try and rev at me I usaully go down hawassee road pretty fast anyway and each time I see there hoodlights fade away.... And when I say fast Im usaully going over 85mph the speedo pegs and before I know it I catch myself and slow down....

I got the same thing when mine was on the road. They would never pull up beside me and would avoid me. It's usually only the domestics and higher end imports that bug me. I had a Gen I MR2 try and beat me to an off ramp before(didn't happen) and tried to ride on my ass through a corner(didn't happen), it was non-SC of course.

after i KILLED all the civics, new Si's and some EK Hatch's and even a few EG hatch's, in my area i stopped haveing that happen. but when i first got my car every day for about a week or so i had a random Boxter try to toy with me through the twisties. had i been driving longer i would have gone for it. and for a little while i had some vettes playing with me... the C3's in the area are SLOW and the people in C4's cant drive so i hit this one road that has a bunch of those "speed limit 15" signs at the turns and a bunch of off camber turns that no one really knows about and ive been through it at abotu 50-55 in my fiero and we went through it at 65 in my friends MR2... oh yeah and the eclipse drivers think that there cars are the fastest thing EVER!!!!

I never get any challenges in my Fieros. THe only time anyone ever wants to race me is in my 97 Grand Am SE. I guess there is a good side to that though. It does give me much more satisfaction knowing that I just killed their Civic with a grandma car. I dream of being able to take them with either Fiero.

yeah i get hassled every day now almost......not just by ricers...but by older people with intrepids, grand prix and other 4-door cars. but there are lotsa ricers here and they all give me the punk look at intersections.....if they go easy like they don't wanna race i just let em be and drive nicely, but it's hard to resist making some punk in a precidia or corolla look like an idiot in front of his girlfriend in the passenger seat.

Kind of interesting with the Enterra most don't know what it is! I'm guessing some think it is just a kit car and want to see what it can do. I let them do their thing for awhile and then downshift into a lower gear and let them hear some V-8 exhaust rumble . . . and they immediately back off! No ricers around here seem to want to race anymore. I've never had someone try me in the Fiero (good thing too, that 2.8 is slow heh) but riding in the Camaro a ricer or 2 might try it. They don't succeed though . I'd think that I'd get more people trying to race me if I took the Z28 emblems off, make it look like a V6 and surprise them

Im tired of every car on the road trying to race me, every time I go out in my fiero there is at least one punk who thinks he can beat me. These races are boring because they always have the same outcome: my fiero wins. To make it more fun I made up a little game which I play at night when a punk pulls up along side wanting to race. My fiero is fairly noisey, so when were stopped at a red light I give it a little gas and then quickly put on the brakes. Normally the punk is too busy looking at me trying to show off to his passengers, so he thinks the light has changed and speeds off through the red light. I obiously wouldnt do this if there were any other cars around, because I dont want anyone to get hurt. But it sure scares the crap out of him, and makes him think twice the next time he wants to race and show off.
i live in a fairly decent sized collection of towns with chicago only 45 miles away... i used to have a very beat up 77 chevy pickup truck... the truck was a everyday driver before i decided i was going to build the motor and drive train... funds ran low after the motor and all so the body suffered horridly... every car around tried to race my very stock and beat looking truck... almost everything lost except high end race cars such as tweaked vets birds and vips... truck is gone now but everyone knows who i am... fiero looks alot faster than truck (its not but its going to be)... so everyone is scared of a little red sports car with a high idle and a exhaust leak cause of the driver... very funny,,, and thanks for letting me ramble on...

It was a classic "Kodak moment" seeing these kids get spanked by a paw-paw car. Serves them right.

I have good fun now that i have my engine swap. I wont ever choose a race but friends that i let drive my car will. There was a few exceptions where i choose to pick the race. One of them was a c3 vette with loud ass exhaust. Guy pulls up to me i look over just to complement him on the car and he just gets all cocky and hits it off the light. I was side by side atthe top of first gear with him and slowly but surely pulling on him from then on. Shut his mouth. The first race i ever did with my swap was with a yellow GTi VR6. My friend had one and i just wanted to see how it stacked up against my car so i raced the riced out gti. That wasnt close. A few other kills include: honda accord honda civic SI Integra GSR (two times, two seperate cars) subaru impreza WRX honda civic hatch (SOHC v-tec not even close it was funny) 240 SX
and a few others that im sure i cant think of right now. I also had the opportunity to go against an s2000 on the freewa but i wasnt driving. We were keeping up though.

A northstar caddy is a 14 second car. Mags tested them at 14.7's. Thats more then enough to take any stock Fiero as well as a 4.9 swap one. Talk about sad.

Its kind of funny. People here like talking about how they like to laugh at ricers when they pull up next to them, but many "ricers" will spank a stock Fiero. Stock Fieros are dog ass slow. 16 second cars!! thats not beating much sorry and Def nothing to brag about.
Many people on here will race to 35 mph or somethign and claim a victory. I find that hilarious and then say "hey I spanked a Ricer!!" BIG DEAL! you beat another 15 or 16 second car through first gear. What you think you deserve a medal? They are at an obvious disadvantage being FWD. Try going from a roll for once and then check to see if that imports brake lights work cause thats what you will be seeing most of the time.
I never see people here posting losses. Only on a few occasions and they are never in their own thread. They are scattered about in other racing stories hidden from the major forum populace. if people here posted all their losses to other cars starting a new thread this forum would be littered with losses and hardly any wins except from the owners with swapped motors.
I am sure many lose all the time but never post it. I mean god forbid a Fiero lose to a Ricer. God I mean you can't ever talk about that here. Or lose to any other car for that matter.
If anyone here pulls up next to something that is fast like a 93+ GM v8 car be it Lt1 or Ls1 and then get their ass handed to them, you will never see them post it here. However on a Camaro or Vette board you will see a post saying "Me vs a Fiero. What was the Fiero owner thinking? I spanked his ass hard. Fiero owners are dumb if they think they can beat a Camaro" Which is pretty much teh same thing you are seeing in this thread.
