I was just wondering what our cars would look like with wire wheels, not the bling bling kind just like the MG's used to have. Tastfull. Anyone have these type on your car?
now i cant remember the guys name. he was from around ohio, had a silver gt with all kinds of custom ground effects. i believe he chopped the top and put in a northstar. had real wire wheels made that looked real nice. show car. ahh... whats his name!

Can't say that I'm enjoying the mental picture too much. I suppose if you found just the right size, with just the right offset, and just the right tire sidewall height, and just the right paintjob on the car, it might work, but... I dunno.

I saw a fiero in town that drove by and I could not turn around to check it out in detail but it was a 15 or 16 inch rim with the same style and look of the knock off type. It did look good! Red car with a white stripe

Wasn't there a picture posted not too long ago that had a pretty funky paint job, velvet type interior and had wire wheels? I think it might even have had hydrolics?

some pics i posted a couple years back. 15x7 with 215/60-15 tires. i just took them off sunday 'cause i hit something and messed up a tire. i like them though and hope to put on a 17" set eventually. got formula wheels on it now till i decide what to do next.

I might be wrong, but the blue one looks like the fake wires that all the low riders use. Nice....but not real wires. I had a set of real on my Mercedes SL that were a pain to keep running true. A friend with a Jag XK-E has the same problem. You cant keep them running true or balanced. Mine were Dayton Wire, supposedly the best.

dayton makes the ones i'd really like to have. positive offset with an aluminum rim so they're lighter than wires usualy are.
when i was changing wheels sunday i hefted the rear formula wheel and one of my wires (same tire size) and i could tell the difference. not a lot though, so the aluminum rimmed dayton might not be such a weight penalty.
