I been interested in Fiero's for awhile now but my interest sparked when I decided I want to buy one. I tried to find some Fiero forums and wow I didn't find like ANY. Forums for fieros were like asking people what is this car when showing them a pic of a Fiero.

Then I came across this great place.....ahh this was heaven, not only was it a fiero forum but like #1 and lots of traffic. But I couldn't join cause I only had a hotmail acc, kinda good to do that so that passer by's don't just join & leave. After surfing this great forum I finally set up a email account using my isp. Now here I am.

So I decided I wanted to sell my 1989 Firebird. When I bought it back in April all I saw was "V8" and at that time my car knowlege was poor and decided to get it. I wanted to get something with a little more style and just cooler so I saw the Fiero it was great...

I went as far as to actually test driving one!! First Fiero I saw up close and test drove. It was a 1985 Fiero Sports Coupe. It was painted yellow. Automatic, 98k miles with the Iron Duke and the ole notchieback. For $1,600. I loved it. But problem is I have to sell my Firebird. I am currently posting it for $3,400 but as I know ppl will talk me down I posted it that high cause I only expect to get roughly $2,800 to 3k. So if I sell it for that much I will have possible $1,400 to $1,200 to use on the Fiero. Probably half will be used to make it "up to date".

Now even if I don't get that Fiero I will still opt for one. I plan on putting on a Finale Body kit on it, but possible a custom rear end(GT fastback inspired) but thats thinking way down the road.

I'm not to knowlegdgeable on the uses on Fieros as in racing wise. I mean what should I set it up for?? A "show" car, no go and show. Nothing wrong with that. Or make it a nice little 1/4 king. Or some other type of racing? Sorry for long post but i've sat back so much and wanted to ask so much thank you guys!!!

Also not sure if this means anything but I live in Illinois, across from St Louis on Illinois side. And i'm also star struck that V8 ARCHIE COMES HERE!!! Wow... lol Anyways glad to join your guys great family and I hope I fit in over time thx.

Give me all details on the Auto. Like model & etc. And how much you want to sell. Please don't screw me over and tell me if it's worth getting yours instead of the $1,600 I found. And what part of Illinois do you live is it far away from 62095?

Anyways does anyone know the total # of fieros ever produced?? I mean total, from 84 to 88.

Welcome to the forum. My advise is to opt for a V6 model. You will be glad you did. Shop around and you will find a good deal. Make sure you frequent Ebay, Autotrader.com, and the pennocks mall. If you want a fiero, dont settle. It's easier to get tired of a duke, and harder to upgrade.

Well my options are limited. Cause I am trying to sell my Firebird for $3,400 and people will try to talk me down and the lowest ill go is $2,800.

Only Fiero I could find REMOTELY near me. Was the one I listed 40 miles away I did test drive it though. I'm not really opting to make it fast first, more like style first then performance later.

the # is right around 250,000 i can't my print out right now .
it is a 86 se red with sunroof . options pw,pl factory amp with 8" cruch instead of 5 ",cruise but it need a new stick to work just haven't had time to do it . the body is in pretty good shap there is a small spot on the pass. door that need a little paint smaller than a quarter.
ac works i just haven't got a new belt it has been switch over to r-134a .
in all that time the only thing i had go wrong was the ing. control mod. (very comman )put a new g.m in and runs great . get about 18-23 mps city -highway . i have to get a few thing for my other car first so it can make it as my new daily driver . not trying to sell because i like but i need the space . if got offered 1,000 with out the power pullys and msd i would take it .i still have the old stuff to put back on
i live 30 min from chicago if you are close i could show it to you when you sell your car if it not to far .

84 they made 136843
85 they made 76371
86 they made 83974
87 they made 46581
88they made 26401
i would look around for a v-6 they last a LOT LONGER and don't leak oil like a civ but to each his own
not hard to switch to fast back i have seen them go for 250 beat to heck to 750 in great shape the sail panel on those play a big factor

But your offer sounds nice but your way to far away man. Exactly how far away from chicago are you?? 30 mins south east west north what?

i couldn't tell you why the leak oil(rear main seal or pan gaskets ) but EVERYONE i have seen leaks oil very bad and the timing belt are a big thing on them to. i live south of the chicago but i have no problum driving it . i drove 3 hours one way to go to the twin lake fiero open house but i could only stay a few hours .i'm the person EVERYONE COME TO AROUND HERE TO FIX THER STUFF (can't work on my car because of all my friends cars ) so i see my fair share of cars.
shops charge up a ton to pull a engine out of fieros .

Well in my Firebird I took a spontanous road trip to Chicago about two months ago. It was like 280+ miles to there. I mean how much would you be willing to sell it?? And maybe we could meet halfway?? So I can check it out in person?? 1986 SE red, v6. auto. Anything else i'm missing?? Oh mileage?? And what is city mpg and highway?? I mean I trust you(even though I just met you) but would it be worth me driving that far to check it out and you telling me everything is wrong. I know i'd probably get a better deal from you then a car from the dealer.

I guess i'll opt for the V6 instead of doing a swap way later and have performance now instead of WAY later.

1 hinge one the rear hatch is bent so it lift one sideof the hatch up a little , and there is a spot on the pass. door that some one slammed a door in too and took out a small nick where the front of the door meet the fender .about a 2 inches or smaller .nicks in paint on the front bumper cover by the headlight from road fly ups . the car looks very good washed and waxed . these are the major things
the car runs great i drive it every day . the belt broke on ac it works (r-134a ) when i get a belt and the cruise stick need to be replaced . but that is about all that is wrong with it

Thanks for the advice guys.

But Brian, so far it just sounds like cosmetic problem, with nicks of paints & etc. Not really a concern. So the engine runs, just the A/C don't work cuz you don't have the belt on??? As long as the car runs itself.

But you still haven't said a price or if you would be willing to meet me halfway???

Also I have a question about the Finale body kit. On the spot where the I guess it's called sail panels?? There is "vents" on each side. Do you have to have them on????? Also since there is a hatch is your original trunk lid still there??? Anyone with more pictures cause I have only seen pics of archies v8 site. Thx

Fierorama is a good place to come to look for and at Fieros. It would also be a good chance for you to learn more about them and join the Northern Illinois Fiero Enthusiasts so you have some connections in your own area for events and cars for sale which are all advertised in our multiple award winning Fiero Magazine. Check us out at our website at: www.fierofocus.com You can also learn details about Fierorama there too.
If your deal with Brian doesn't work out here's a couple other places to check for Fieros besides the clubs magazine:
Twin Lakes Fiero in Paxton Illinois also has many Fieros for sale and Fiero Bob, who owns the place, also works on them.
Paul Vargyas is a good source for cars too and he's the membership director of N.I.F.E. (Northern Illinois Fiero Enthusiasts)

Welcome to the forum...

My advise is that if you can only have one Fiero...go right to a V6/GT. If you get an iron duke coupe, you will immediately wish you had a GT, then you will do one of two things...

1) run out and buy a GT, or
2) swap a bigger engine in your coupe...

Well, actually I did both!

Well the one Brian may sell me is a V6. Not a GT but I plan on doing a custom car so not concerned on body style of the stock car.

And yes, I only do want to own 1 Fiero lol.

So Who's all going to Fiero Rama? Hope to see everyones Fieros even ones that are regular.

So whats the #'s on a V6?? 1/4 Mile & etc.? For the 86 SE v6.

the engine is in great running order
.and all i need to do is get a belt and the air will work but i never use it so i haven't got one.
the original trunk(i call it a hatch because it is so small) is on there but 1 of the hinges is bent a small amount . i still open and close it fine . but it cause the 1 side to stick up about 1/8 of a inch .
my sail panel where cracked so i put glass black ones on .
do you mean the engine vent that lay flat next to the trunk ? they are there to keep crap out of the engine .
1000 is what i would need to get for the car , the car is a very good looking car and it is in good shape engine and trans. wise
email me at fierobrian@prodigy.net and i will send photos to you

Do you perhaps have AIM???? $1000 sounds good. I am going to FieroRama are you going man or will Puck(Adam) have to stop by your house which is also fine just wondering.

But you know on GT Fastbacks, the side window things that have the GT lettering on it?? Thats the vents 'm talking about, Do you have to have those? Or can you just have a glass there?

no i don't have aim
you can get some scoops to replace the glass sail but i think you have to do some cutting. only seen on ebay don't know for sure about them.the coupes came stock with glass and plexi-glass sold panel but someone made some one's that are fiberglass and need to be painted.
i will be at the show forsure . so we can meet up then and you see it

if you email me i can send some old photos from when i first got it. i have to wait for the stores to open so i can get a battery to take new photos
if you are worring about over heating this car has the low temp theramastat 185 instead of 195 ,and lower temp fan switch195 instead of 210

It's cool, it was a good picture. This is my very first time going to FieroRama also. I'm going with Puck, a 3rd timer being there. He said the event is in a huge parking lot right next to McDonalds.

I'm not sure how I could find you. I mean if you maybe put "FieroBrian" on a piece of paper and stick it on the window as I go around and look at all the great Fieros and come across it. I'm not sure, any suggestions guys??

I don't have a cell phone either so this sucks.

Will you be entering your car?? Cuz isn't the event divided up into miles cuz I can look for it in that section. 120k miles you have on it right?? And is the flame tint pretty noticeable?? But yeah just right on or print up a piece of paper that says "PFF FieroBrian" on whatever window you choose.
