Some of you may not have seen this car, So heres a link:

Click on "Prototypes"
In 1962 Ford engineers built 6 or so test cars for a possible production sportscar. They used the running gear from the front wheel drive German Ford Taurus, and simply moved it to the rear to make a mid engined car. It featured a V4 engine, and rear side mounted radiator.Side view it looks just like a 2M4!
They decided to name it the Mustang to throw the press off the trail of the real Falcon based Mustang, as they wanted to keep that a secret until the Worlds Fair new product intro.
Ford decided there just wasn't enough of a potential market for a small 2 passenger mid engined sportscar, so the idea was scrapped.

didnt goto the link.... but to me Pontiac was there first.... meaning they brought it out and had them selling... not just an idea... like hey this may look good.... i mean hell look at APPLE computers years ago... Bill Gates stole the software and rendered it... but he himself got there first to the public

Thanks.I don't know why it didn't work for me. Worked OK yesterday.
BTW, I thought of this because they ran a side view photo of the car in Thursdays Orlando Sintenel.

The first transportation 'Fiero' was probably a horse, or maybe an ox with an attitude.

Pontiac was showing 2 seaters in 54 Gullwing, 56 de Mur, and in 62 Tempest, which Mustang looks like they ripped off. When they were developing the Fiero they would throw on Subaru badging to throw off the media

As must as you all know I would so like to agree, I must totally disagree.. This car looks in no way like the 2M4 sitting here... Hmmm... Maybe I just don't see it...

--- goobher!

"Real American Heroes - Today we solute you, Mr. Ford Truck Towing A Fiero Guy. When most people don't even know what a Fiero is, let alone just where the motor is, you seem to somehow fit right in. You see the looks people give to that car with the PIAA light conversion, the 2" drop springs, big scoops on the hood, and the 19" tires that are bigger than the car itself, and get a kick out of their reactions. You get all warm and gooshy inside by knowing you help out children in need by putting smiles on their faces, whenever you drive by with that car on the trailer all lit up with neon. A car that isn't made anymore, is kept alive by being the prize posession of most of their owners who spend 5 times more than what they paid for them to gain a few more horsepower, and loose a couple seconds off their 1/4 mile, and spend many of nights sleeping "in the dog house" because of it. You help them save their paychecks on tow bills by being the "Fieros West & WCF Support Vehicle". So crack open a drink, Fiero Tower Guy, and know that the Fiero community appreciates your participation & support. If it wasn't for you, we wouldn't be able to show Corvettes and Porches just how Mean the "M" in 2M6 can get!

Not even close. At that time most all of the "super cars" had that same "look"
Just like now days,
