Saw this car this past spring at Daytona, it was in the back of the field away from the competitors. Looks like a very sweet project,..was just wondering who it belonged to and if it was now finished. I am interested to see how it looks painted.

The owner of that car is John Parks. He is a member of Suncoast Fieros of Tampa Bay. Yes he is Ed Park's son. I believe he has a 3.4 in it soon to be a 4.9. Hope this helps you out.

Hi Exoticse and others, Sorry about such a late response; I've never posted before now and haven't been here for some time. I am not running the 4.9 yet! And the paint job is almost finished. Ron Hale got a sneek peek and a few close friends and family saw some 'in progress' pic.'s. The final results will be posted when the paint is done. The wheels took me six months to find! Being an '88 was the hassle. Different front and rear widths. Mine are Konig Tantrums 17"; 8" in rear and 7" in front with 40mm offsets---no rubbing even though it's lowered about 1.5" Yes, it started out as an '88 - Formula at that! With much coercing from my Dad, Ed Parks, he turned it into what my vision had been. Well that is it for now. Should be ready by mid-week next.
I'm sorry if I misinformed about the 4.9. Man!!! , I sure thought everybody was looking at it at the RFTH8 , even tho I never got up there to your car when everybody was gathered round, Coulda swore I heard someone say you had the 4.9 in it. Geeez , Sorry.Guess I never heard it running either. Duh!!!

John, you are right I did get a sneak peak of your car. All I'm going to say is "AWESOME" What a great idea! I'm not sure if it is the paint scheme or just the fact that it will all be painted soon. I'm so used to seeing it red, primer gray with black parts, etc etc... You have got one great looking car. Your secret is yours to unveil.
I am going to get me one of those tail fins though. I've got a 87 SE that it would look great on.

Wow, that is really cool! So many neat modifications. I dig the old school GTO type taillights and the louvered rear fascia and the center exit exhaust and the paint graphics and the hood vents and... whew, I'm running out of breath. Nice car, man.
Hey guys, Thanks for the comments. I forgot to mention that the paint and body work was finished by B&B Spyder in Clearwater, FL.
JP
That's good to hear. Those guys have had some bd press in the Fiero world and maybe a few more good recommendations like yours can bring them back into good graces.

we made the filler piece for Johns car and now sell it. It is a fiberglass piece that fits over your original bumper cover and is bonded on. It is a solid piece so you can do whatever you want to it. Bill

Like I said when i first started this thread I love this car, a very sweet project, but I have to admit when i first saw the paint job, i was horrified !
I thought John what have u done to such an awesome car,...then I began to study the paint job a lot closer, and it started becoming more and more appealing.
It's not something I would choose for my tastes, but it is still an outtanding and sharp looking paint job !
Good Job John and B&B !!
