I know nothing of the car, or the seller, do not contact me about it. I am just forwarding on the info.

Hi Everyone,
I'm looking to get rid of my 1985 Fiero 2m4. The car still runs, but the clutch just went. I would recommend it as a parts car. The car is located in Hollister, CA and I would offer it free to anyone willing to transport it.
Thanks, John

I might want to give away my Indy parts car frame. If I do, it would be almost exclusively a frame only, nothing else. That would be for a "purist" who wants to build a true Indy.
If someone needed parts to complete it, I'd be willing to deal.
BTW, I was just given an 84SE. It runs, but I'm not sure how well yet. Is anyone dying for a cheap 4-banger?

What a tease! A possibly free Indy frame and a cheap 84 SE... Talk to me, brother! haha

The car is an 85 base coupe, possibly a sport coupe. Anyone know how to tell the difference between the two models? I think its a base coupe from the lack of options - I love it.
Specs: 1985 black/grey, 4-cyl, 5-spd, hardtop, rackless decklid, no power windows, no power mirrors, no power locks, 13-in steel rims. I'll have to check to see what options it does have. I know it has tilt.
The car has been in a minor front end fender bender, it'll need a new front fascia and front left fender.
The car also needs some type of clutch work. I don't know if it's a bent clutch pedal or what. I can't shift it into gear with the car running.
However, I can start the car while engaged in 1st or 2nd with the clutch pressed to the floor. The car lurches forward immediately, however, it feels as if the clutch is partially engaged, the longer I keep the clutch pressed to the floor, the less the effect of the clutch and the car starts to pick up speed and engage in gear.

I don't have any before pics (was too excited to start working on the car)... This weekend was my first weekend I had a chance to work on the car - the previous weekend it was at a tranny shop.
Before status: standard 1985 base coupe black/grey. The car had been involved in a minor front wreck - the hood was scraped pretty good, and cracked by the passenger-side front light lid. The front left fender was torn and the front fascia had a hole punched through it above the Fiero emblem.
Current status: At a Pick-n-pull - I picked up a front facia from a black 86 SE, a rear bumper from a red 86 SE, a front left fender from a grey 85 SE, and a hood from a black 87 GT.
I replaced the front facia, hood and left fender so far... Here are the pics...
After I replace the rear bumper with the red 86 SE bumper, I'll take it to a paint shop and have them paint it all black.

The driver side seat is rough, the rest of the interior is pretty ok. There is an 86 SE right inner rear-wheel-well sitting in the passenger seat (still need to pick up a left side), along with an 87 GT rim - I'm going to put 86/87 style GT rims on this car - as my 87 SE. I have an extra set sitting in storage, but one of the 4 GT rims is slightly a shade darker grey than the others (not too noticeable, but I can notice it) - so I picked up this lighter grey wheel while at the Pick-n-pull.

Silly me, years ago I had to move out of Mom's house... Well I had 4 GT's and 2 coups in the back yard, she have me 30days to get rid of them... Hell I couldn't give them away, so I had to pay to have them taken to heaven....

Did I miss it,.. What was the Tranny problem?? You said you took it to a tranny shop but didn't give results..
It needed a new clutch and slave cylinder.
Right now the tranny still needs some work. The car will pop out of fifth gear after 15 minutes of hwy driving. Could be a bad shift fork, misaligned cable, or worn synchros.
Right now I drive it around locally using 1st - 4th gears.

This car had to have the Isuzu tranny rebuilt. Now it runs like a champ. Today I rinsed the engine with Gunk Engine cleaner and replaced the rear bumper with an 86 SE rear bumper.
Pics:
I also replaced the grey left fender with a black one.

I know the 87 GT you're talking about Kelvin. I got the rear wing off it! First time I ever found a wing in the wrecking yard.
Nice work Kelvin. Let me know if you need any help. We got an offer on the house and will be moving soon. But after that, I'll have my weekends free again!

Today I replaced the rear inner wheel wells to match size of the rear bumper, replaced the front shocks to eliminate the Cadillac float over bumps, and put on some 14 in hi-tech rims - the car is starting to come together.
Before:
Because I do not want to go through the hassle of fitting side aero fx, I'm going to paint the car black. This way the lower side rocker panels will appear more integrated with the car.
Next is off to the paint shop...

The car has been painted metallic black. And yesterday I replaced the 4-cyl dogbone.
I think I'll eventually add side skirts to complete the exterior - it'll give the car just a little more beef. I also have 15 in grey GT rims for the car.

This 85 base coupe (138000mi) will replace my 87 SE as a daily driver. The 87 SE has 156000 miles, now it will get a chance to rest. My 88 GT has 144000 miles and has been resting for some time now.

Looking great... This does remind me of my own project. I can not wait to see what the GT wheels will look like with the 195s in the front and 205s in the back. I am replacing my rubber this summer, you may inspire me to follow your lead for the lower profile look.
If you don't mind me asking, how much did that paint job cost you? (unless you did it yourself)
Could have been less - but I paid $700 for the paint job + clear coat. I had them prep the car (sand, etc.). If I sanded it myself alsong with other prep work, I bet I could have gotten the cost down to $400 or so. MAACO will spray your car for $199, but I suspect that paint job won't last that long.

You need a dual exhaust to match your rear fascia. The car looks beautifull.
Thanks Avengador,
That's one of my planned mods... F86GT will soon see this car with 88 GT black rims, and you will soon see this car with dual trumpet exhaust pipes.
I've decided to add side skirts as well.
What's holding things up now is that I've ordered some poly cradle bushings from the Fiero store (last Sunday night). I'll check to see if they have arrived yet. Once the poly bushings arrive, I'll have those inserted, have the 88 GT rims put on, and have the car aligned.
Then I'll add side skirts and the dual exhaust... The 85 base coupe will be an 87 SE in disguise.

Hey, nice job on the car... where are those side skirts from?
Hey FieroAudio,
The lower side aero rocker panels were ordered from the Fiero Store www.fierostore.com . They came in black, which worked out for me since I just had my car painted.
The rest of the side pieces were removed from a 1986 Fiero SE sitting in a wrecking yard (Pick-N-Pull)... It's tough to find lower aero rocker panels that are in good condition at wrecking yards.

And here it is, a dual exhaust system removed from an 86 SE V6 at a Pick-n-Pull.
Someone had cut the cat out of the 86 SE, all I had to do was unbolt the exhaust hangers and the spring brackets and the rest of the exhaust behind the cat was mine, all for $23, including the two twin trumpet exhausts pipes. I had a muffler shop stuff the exhaust in.
