I am just curious of whom gave me a "-" rating..?? I mean I must have pee'd a few people off... I mean If you rated me a negative, PLEASE PM me and let's talk and get whatever the problem is straight.

Some people (just under 50% of the raters) REALLY don't like my aggressive left-wing stance, nor my harsh criticisms of the US government. Oh, that, and I tend to champion extremely unpopular causes.
And some people just don't like me.
Truthfully? As long as I still have a little green on my end, I really don't care. That is, I don't deliberately try and piss people off. But I have strong views, and I am neither afraid nor unwilling to voice them. Loudly.
Lately though, I've just gotten tired of arguing the same thing over-and-over again. I still feel the same way, I'm just bored with socio-political debates, as well as anything religion at the moment.
HOWEVER, more of my bar is green than red, so there are people that LIKE me, too.
Honestly? I'm of the belief that ALL of my reds have probably come from O/T, while most of my greens are from Tech/Gen....
That said, I wouldn't at all mind some feedback from those that deem me worthy as a scourge on this board

Hi Smooth, I gave you a "+" a long time ago. I try to give everybody a plus when I rate them. I only give trolls a minus. I have only given one minus so far and it wasn't you. I have some red on my bar also, but my green is a hell of a lot more. Remember you can't please everybody.

I think one of the ideas behind Cliff's rating system was to make it anonymous, letting people rate another user without risking confrontation or ridicule. This is a public forum, and people have different views. I don't see the need to call out a few individuals who gave you a negative rating. It's just a website, come on! Goodluck with the hunt though.

On an Internet forum, basically it all comes down to what you write and the (perceived) attitude.
I'm sure my negatives came from spouting off at a couple of people in harsh, inappropriate ways. There is a place for sarcasm, joking, and even some well-placed rudeness, but people here will respect you if you show respect for them.
At some point, you must have dissed somebody.

there are verry few people who have gotten negatives from me, and your not one of them, and ive rated probibly 90+% of the people that you see here every day but yey nobody rates me, but yet i could really care less. most of the time ill just take 5 min. and rate 20 or so people in a big thread or somthing
i think that cliff's rating system IS working, we dont have all the trash talking we used to, and the trash can rarley has anything in it

Of course, I think that someone with more of a rating like mine would be a little more "to be expected."
There is nothing wrong with talking things over.
If the people who made the rating wish to be anonymous, they can remain so. However, if they are big enough to confront them in-person, this simply gives them the opportunity.
I'm going to say the same thing:
If anyone's rated me Negative, please, by ALL means, PM me and let me know why. Hell, you can post it publicly if you want.
"You can't please everyone," Well, true, but you can at least try to keep everyone neutral... Better to make friends and acquaintances, than it is to make enemies. Smooth obviously cares about his image here. That is to be commended.

although i like to put the mean little guy on the top of all my posts i didn't mean it offensivly i just put him there cause he looks cool. i've given very few "-" ratings and they were all cause people came on my threads where i was asking a question and they felt that instead of being helpful and answering me or helping out they'd correct my english and insult me. But Smoooth i aint got nuthin but good for you. you've helped me out and been nice and everything... not to mention i should give you a "+" rating just cause your car is so DAMN NICE. Well yeah, i dunno why anybody'd give you a negative.

Well I've noticed Smooth posting in every thread it seems like. You may be a nice person or whatever but I don't care. You are annoying as *****. Someone makes a thread with a body mod and everyone has to see "Hey looks like I be adding to the SmooooooothGT!!" or "Jeez Skitime, slow down so I can copy" so annoying. I know you said you were not posting this to get ratings, but thats exactly why I just gave you a positive one. Because if you don't care about the actual rating, then it must be that you DO care about how you treat people. Thats deserves a + in my book.
i have a couple -'s also. just remember that you can be the nicest, most helpfull person on the planet, and there will STILL be those who really really dont like you. You cant change this fact, all you can do is stay true to yourself, stay cool, and worry about the people that matter

No I understood the joke you guys had just fine. I just think it's mentioned way to often. What I find even more annoying is Skitime posting in nearly every 3800sc thread, and following with pictures. But I would never give him a negative rating for it. I find a lot of stuff annoying, that I wouldn't give negative ratings for. I'm just saying if I find it annoying I'm sure a few "people who are, like they are.." do also and rate you negatively for it. I also found your threads to be interesting for the most part. You have a vision for your car and are going through with it..
To follow up to what I just posted .. I don't want you or Skitime to take what I said the wrong way. You both wondered where your negative ratings may have come from and I thought maybe thats what people are rating on. I don't want to make enemies or start a bunch of internet anarchy over this.

I find stuff like this annoying. I wouldn't rate people negative over it but anytime a person gets a negative rating they need to start a "poor me" thread. Case in point, CrazyD. Walked out of that thread with 300 ratings all shining green.
I just wanted to add that I fully expect to have both red and green ratings. Its to be expected. I have voiced political, religious, and other opinions that some people wouldn't like to hear. People probably take some things I say out of context-that is easy to do because all we know of each other is text on a screen.
And yeah Smooth, I've noticed the "you must be smooooothing it" posts in body modification threads myself.
