I have been lurking in these forums for a few months now, and now I have a question that ya'll may be able to answer.
I am looking for a good Fiero friendly mechanic in the Las Vegas area. I know from previous experience with mechanics and Fieros that many do not realize that they are the same as most front wheel drive GMs to work on and run screeming like a little girl when you ask if they work on them. (either that or they hear the "KA-CHING" of a fat bill to be)
I have a '85 SE that has recently had a new 2.8 V6 dropped in, but does not run yet. Every thing is hooked up, but I have no idea what still needs to be done, as the project was left unfinished. It has been years since I have worked on a Fiero, and that was on a 4 cyl. I just need to find someone to figure out what it needs and to get it running, but obviously I don't want to pay a fortune.

TIA,
Shannon

Well it would be very hard to tell...I don't live anywhere close to you, however, i'd suggest going to a GM certified mech or even to a dealer mech...they're always trustworthy and have a huge company to back them up...never go to a no-namer that you don't know...i see so many of them at the yard picking parts off of fiero's probably to sell new to an unsuspecting paytron. I'd suggest a dealer or a well known mech that i can't help you with...but never go for the small shops in the middle of nowhere.

Good Luck

Welcome to the forum / family hope you don't get as addicted as all the rest of us

Going thru the Forums Member List and asking people living in the area for recommendations would be my next choice,
if this post does not work out for you that is.
How about the local Fiero club, got one of those?

Otherwise, I would start calling around,
BUT... The Dealer ... would be my last choice if I had to watch my $'s.

I live in vegas and have decent mechanic skills. And of course love FIEROs. And if I can't help I know an ASC cert. mechanic in town too.

Now thats not very nice. Our small shop is located at the ass end of nowhere... Infact a lot of the really good shops are like this. Our alignment man works out of a 20x40 building in his backyard. I would rate him as the best alignment guy in this part of the state. Every time I'm out there his driveway is full of cars.
