Just making a general announcement that a number of Fiero pilots will be racing at Maple Grove on October 19th. Its a Import Race so we get to show the ricers what a Fiero can do. We seem to have a good lot going. So far I think we have Rockcrawl(4.9 Cadillac V8), V8Dreamer(3800SCSeries II), NOS3800(380oSCSeriesII), LilDV1L(3800SCSeriesII). Can you see a trend? Anyone else want to tag along? Its 20 dollars to race. 15 for spectators.
SKITIME? Jason Haughey? FieroChic88???

I think we need to put a little more pressure on Hugh Lemma to go!! Something about a 62 yr old guy racing a 300 HP Fiero down the strip that just implies fun...
Anyway, if anyone in the area is interested, here's the info I have:
Saturday, October 19 - Grudge Racing open to all makes and models. Gates open 8:00 a.m., racing 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Race entry $20, crew $15.

Ryan,If I can rearrange the schedule(and miss my Grandsons confirmation)I may make it with the sole purpose of beating you.If I don't beat you with this car(unthinkable)I WILL beat you with the next one. When I beat you(and I will)I want you to declare out loud that I am your hero!If you somehow manage to beat me,I will buy you lunch. How's that for a real blood and guts grudge race?

man sometimes i wish i lived out there,so i could go with you all, good luck and kick some ASS!!! 84 Indy 4 speed 86 GT ported and polished heads, and manifolds,k&n air filter, holley side scoop, mustang scoop, rear swaybar,80 series flowmaster. 89 WS6 GTA 350 TPI
I can't believe that theres not more interest on this. I went to the website for the race and theres GREAT event coverage. All the Sport Compact magazines are going to be there looking for interesting cars. Also ESPN is going to be there filming. Sunds like a great oppurtunity to show what a fiero can do.
Aww.. no offerings towards me?? Yea yea, i'm in CT. But.. Count me in!! Heck yea I wanna whoop on some rice. I was suppsoed to go to LVD today but got rained out. Too bad I only got a wimpy 2.8, but I'm hopin to run some low 14s MAYBE break into the 13s. I'll see ya there!!!

Hehe, its all good. Not like I'll be runnin with you and that 13.1, but then again, not many honda out there can hang with even my slow(er) times. Hope for a great turnout, lets pray no rain, lol.

Hugh...you know that last chip that Jon sent you...well, nevermind that...you'll see what I mean once we hit the track and you can't go any faster than 60!!! Anyway, I'm VERY happy to hear that you're going to try and make it. Do you have a video camera? Bill and Earl, either of you have a vid camera? I know neither Jon nor I have one, and I'd like to get it on tape!!!!

You V6 guys aren't gonna know what hit ya! Bah ha ha!!!
Sorry Jen, I don't know anything about fixing Fieros, and I don't think Ryan does either. Maybe we could just stand there and and hand the tools to you and your dad? Would that work?

Well, I definitely don't know anything about Fieros....handing tools I can't even get right most of the time, but maybe we could eat some of that good food that's always lying around sometime!

I have a video camera(nondigital) that I will be bringing. I will send the video to my brothe in SC and he will convert it to be played on the forum. However, my girlfriend will not be coming so I will need someone to handle the video. I may grab the digital camera from work too!

I'm coming armed with a video camera myself. Do we get to stage against who we want to at this event? Kinda curious how I'd stay next to one of ya guys.
I mean, obviously its not going to be too close, but my question is, do you jump me off the line and steady pull, or is it close to 60' and then your 2nd gear (for you auto boys) just kills my 3rd?
I'm just kinda hopin I can stay decently close the first half, fine by me if you pull 10 cars the 2nd half.

Its advertised as GRUDGE MATCH racing so I assume you get to pick whoever you want to race. Hopefully it won't be too crowded so we can get plenty of runs in. JNCOMUTT, its a tough call. When I was spraying and raced my brother he would jump out on me a bit, but then I would start to gain at mid track but never enuff to pass him. He always beat me by at least a carlength. IS yours an auto? If not and you hook up, you may get us on the 60 foot, but more then likely you will get 2.0 60 to our 1.9-1.8 60's. Not too shabby. Unless you have upped the jetting to 150HP shot!
Sorry, I cannot make it. I had made plans to go to State College that weekend. Plus, I have the front suspension all apart. Had some really bad handling problems plus I need some new rubber and not enough $$$ to make it all happen. This really sucks.
I'll be looking for detailed information when I get back on Sunday.
Good luck all.

Well Hugh...we just got my new shift improvement in place........now she really shifts nice n firm! Remember, there's a lot of money riding on this race...that $2 is gonna be mine!!!!!!
-- From what I hear, Henry is thinking about bringing his 500hp V8 Fiero with a 200 shot.....so it looks like we're all gonna lose this one

NOS3800, I used to have an auto and pulled 1.9 all day, 1.8 here and there. I have a 4:10 gearing 4 speed now because I blew thru 3 autos and got sick of it. I haven't run it at the track yet, so I'm not sure how the stick compares to the auto. I was at low-mid 14s before runnin my 50shot.
I'm hoping to get my new supplementary fuel system hooked up soon then I'll start playin with 75-100 and see how that goes. But for now, just trying to stay somewhat conservative.

Ryan, Im not 100%, but I think you just need a motorcycle helment. I run a M2000 at Atco and solo2 events without any real trouble.
You might want to pull your passenger seat, sound system and other misc stuff, beacuase what I gather from talking from Hugh is that he has plenty of drive fast experience.
Oh and is the girl with the civic still going to run you?
Wish I could go.

As far as I know, any motorcylce helment (except dirtbike) will work. If you do not have one, they rent them at the track. JNCOMUTT, wow, didn't realise you were already pulling those numbers! I will have to watch out for you then! HUGH, who the hell are you and what do you have done to your car!?!? JK, I am not sure we have ever met, fill me in on what you are running and do you have any times?

Welcome aboard Hank. What are you running? A V8 and NOS?!?!? Someone needs to get the phone number of the local towing company, someone is bound to break something! So is that TWO Fieros showing up with V8's and NOS? Maybe I need to hook up my bottle again???
Hank, sounds like you have a very similar setup as me, except mine has 3.33 gears in the 4T60E. I do not know what mine weighs though.
Well guys if you take a peek at my other thread, it turns out I'm not making it. GEEZ DARNIT!!! I KNEW something was going to happen. Usually its mechanical, never expected this. OH well, maybe I'll show up just to watch, chance are not, but ya never know.
