I've seen a lot of talk on using a mustang hood scoop on the Fiero decklid to aid in cooling. I like the scoop the fiero shop has for $225 here >>> http://www.thefieroshop.com/catalog/trunk_scoop.htm but, I'm not ready to spend that much.

I would like to see a picture of a Fiero with a mustang scoop on the decklid. I would also like to see any other trick venting ideas that have been done.

Read this thread: https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/009492.html

I bought mine from Outlaw Performance before they ran off with people's money... check with fiero_momo he's making nice ones now. I think his website is www.thefibersmith.com and he's selling them for about $75 + SH.

Hey, I like what I see at thefibersmith.com--thanks for saving me a couple hundred bucks!! (actually, I wouldn't have spent a couple hundred bucks). The yellow one is kinda cool too.

MontanaFiero- No problem. He just opened his site officially last month, and I could've bought the scoop from him for about $5 less than I spent on mine through Ebay!

Feel free to send that extra cash I saved you my way... I can spend it on Aus's stage-2 kit! (J/K)

Sure, that cash was taking up way too much room in my wallet anyway, and besides-- I have all these extra blank checks I need to get rid of. hehehe.

Hartz- I haven't worked on mine yet, but I've heard that just using a strong smc-adhesive (search forum for panel repair- they show a specific type) to glue it to the lid, then using fiberglass filler to close the gaps. Sand well and paint!

EDIT: Check this thread https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/010081.html

this is the stuff they recommended.

I am planning on getting the zr-1 hood scoop from www.thefibersmith.com in the near future. I asked Pat about attaching the scoop to my hood and this is what he said...

some people use the stuff called "vette adhesive". i use a 2 part agent that looks like epoxy. it is made
for fiberglass and plastic. i will look for the name. i think it is made by 3m. it is tested at 110 mph, several times. no cracks found yet. i drive about 75-80 mph on highway. this is one good stuff.

thanks

I think the motion blur would give a more realistic effect, if I understand what you were trying to do.. unless I did that pic for you and just forgot.. in which case, I shouldn't be giving advice on graphics techniques.

Montana,
You just have to keep checking Ebay, I just got mine 2 weeks ago. When I was looking there were 3 for sale. I got mine (82 Mustang) for $20 and $8 for shipping. Trust me...I recommend that you get a "genuine" ford part. I bought a fiberglass one from MPMotorsports and it was ****, (IMO) I love this one, it has the FORD part number and everything, it just is better quality. Just go to ebay and type scoop in the search, then look for a mustang one. Within a week or two there will be one.

Rob

Wow... under $30- wish I had done a little more research before I bought mine for $70. Oh well, that was before I found the forum (what a dark point in my Fiero history )I am planning on making mine functional by cutting larger openings in the decklid- have to do some measurements first. I want to make sure the bottom side doesn't look like I glassed the crap out of it either- needs to look clean (like it is supposed to be there).
