I'm planning a cookout along with a trip to Norwalk Dragstrip on the weekend of August 12-13. I'll provide camping to anyone interested and there are several hotels/motels in the area as well. So all of you Ohio and vincinety Fiero owners are invited. Just kinda try to let me know. I'm located right between Ashland and Mansfield. There are many things going on that particular weekend round here. Including 1.Ames Pontiac Performance Nationals at Norwalk. 2. Cart FedEx at Mid-Ohio. 3. Mansfield Motorsports circle track/stock car raceing. 4. Dragway 42 dragstrip. 5. SCCA AutoXing in Mansfield.
Plus there is plenty of shopping , antiques, etc.

WOOHOO! I'm the first on the list of attendees! Count us in - Lisa, Rachel, Megan and me. Weather permitting, we'll be crashing in your campground. Let us know what you'd like for us to bring. BTW - thank you VERY MUCH, Dale, for offering this to us!!!!!

I live in Waterford, Mi. About 1 1/2 hours from Ohio border, how long of a drive would it take for me to get there(Wherever you guys are)? I would try to come down there just to talk Fiero's, and admire everyones car. Thanks Knight

Dale--Count me in for sure. I'll be there for both days. I don't know if Monkeygal will be there, though. I need some info on motels, etc. Feel free to email this info.

Scott--Does this mean we won't be seeing your ultra clean Plastic Fantastic?! Maybe you'll be driving that and Lisa will get the Pathfinder? (Or maybe the other way around? hehe) You just have to show off the detail, buddy.

Gosh, Dave ... I'll not show up at one of our Fiero outings before the Plastic Fantastic gets left behind!
We'll be bringing both cars. Lisa and I have two-way radios that we use to stay in touch during our trips. Besides, I have yet to figure out how to get all of that blasted camping gear in the Fiero!

Drew--I gotta agree with Scott. If you miss this one, I'll have you beat. (I don't mean literally ) We've both been to a couple. And you didn't stay as long at the last one. Wouldn't be a big deal, but you live so much closer and don't have the same excuse I have. Be there or be square!

OK , Scott you're on ! (glad I don't have to sleep in the tent with you)
For those of you who would prefer to get a room as opposed to camping out. Here is some info for you. First off I would like to remind you that there are a quite a few things going on in the area that weekend. So , please, call and make reservations as soon as possible.
Thank you very much for hosting this event, Dale. Now, what can we bring? I make killer baked beans and Scott makes good sausage/cheese dip. We can bring those along with whatever else you would like. We also have a new portable volleyball net we can bring. Please have Christine let me know what I can do to make the day easier on you guys. Thanks!

I will see if I can make it. I live in Toledo OH. If I do go I will be bringing my 85 Gt with nitrous. I just might have my aluminum 3.2 engine in by that time too. Norwalk is only 1 hour from so I will prboably just commute to and from every day you guys will be there as I am a cheap skate and dont' want to pay for a hotel room

Thanks for thinking about me Dale! Bummer is, I don't know if I'll be able to make it! The beast is in the garage with the motor still on the stand, waiting for my carb to arrive. The trans is sitting on the floor, I still have to pick up the five speed, get the new shifter, and make it all work. Arrgh. What crappy timing. (I started sanding for paint too, even if I got it running in time, I don't know if my vanity would allow me to bring it around all the beauties you all drive!)
I guess we'll see what this week brings.

Taijiguy - you don't have to bring your car. The outing is just as much an opportunity for us to socialize and have fun as it is an opportunity to show our cars.
Perfect example - me! I may not be bringing mine. Since the family is coming with me, we may just drive our SUV.
Try to make it, OK? We'd love to meet ya ...

I agree. You don't have to drive your Fiero. This is mostly a chance to meet some more folks and have a little fun. I never intended this to be a Fiero car show.(thats just a bonus) My Fiero is a long way from perfect. So if you get yours runnin' then drive it. If you don't then come anyway if you can.
How far is it to your place from Columbus Dale? If it's not too bad, maybe I can make it a one day trip....have to be back Sunday morning. Would sure love to come and see the sunset on your back yard!
Thanks for the invite Dale. I should be able to make it on Sat. i am looking forward to meeting fellow Fiero enthusiasts, especially those who are sociable and willing to share ideas/plans/ tech info. Thought I'd keep this thread on top too.

FieroJon, By using your profile..I see you can just get on St.RT. 250 and head west to my place. 250 turns into Main St in Ashland. Email me for final directions.

Lisa, the girls and I will be there. The girls and I should arrive around 4:00. Lisa and the Plastic Fantastic will be there around 9:00 (after she throws a baby shower for our sister-in-law).
I'll have a map or two on here later tonight for those wanting direction/location information.

Here are three maps (sorry for the large size). The first is intended to be used for reference only. By displaying a wide area, the first map makes it easier to determine where the location of the cookout is in relation to your starting point.
The second and third maps show more detail. The third map probably could have been omitted except that it shows how Vantilburg is intersected by another road (several feet worth of another road). I never would have figured this out the first time I went to Dale's had I not been following him up the street.
By looking at the second map, I'd say the best route (and Dale can correct me on this) is to follow I-71 towards Ashland then go West on 250 through Ashland to Olivesburg. There, you'll go South on 545 for a mile or two then East on Vantilburg (watching for Fieros, of course!).
Hope these help ...
