Hey Guys,

I am going to weld up my own exhaust here cause I have never donw it before.
Is it worthwhile upping to 2" OD pipe over the stock 1.5" OD?

Its a trackday car and I wanted to run pipe over the front of the motor and out the right side.
Easy to find 2" mandrel bends - more difficult to find 1.5". Thats why I ask.

Cheers

What part of the exhaust uses 1.5" pipe? Which motor do you have?

Stock Fiero v6 exhaust pipe is 2"

Pretty sure the Fiero is 2 inch OD stock if you can fix the bottle necks the stock exhaust isn't that bad but I don't see how going up that much can hurt. You do need some back pressure.

I believe technically the exhaust is 1-7/8 inches? Either way 2 inches really isn't much different, best bet would be to just port the manifolds and ypipe

Sorry,

I dont have the exhaust anymore.
The Y pipe must be 1.5" cause I still have a couple of pieces left from that and thats what it measures out to.

Cheers
