I'm working on making an equipment list for my 1986 Fiero. I've looked at a few RPO breakdown sheets I've found on the Internet, but I still have a few codes that I can't crack from my Service Parts Identification label. Can anyone tell me what these mean?

QRF = ?
6JF = ?
7JF = ?
8YM = ?
9YM = ?

I appreciate any help you can provide....

The 6JF, 7JF, 8YM, and 9YM are the suspension spring codes for the left front, right front, left rear, and right rear springs respectively. As for the QRF, I too have that code on mine and haven't been able to find the exact meaning, although all the Q codes relate to tire sizes.

Here is a good list of the RPO's. Doesn't do either of you any good on the QRF code though, sorry.

Thanks for the help. Boy, these RPO list sure do vary, the ones I looked at did not include those missing codes, and then I'm wondering why some codes basically repeat some of the same information. According to the lists I've looked at, mine has "automatic transmission" listed twice, except one has this at the end (THM125C). Then, with the additional help here, my tires are listed twice, but almost conflict in what it's listing. I've got a QRF code that says "Tires, P205/60R15 BSW", then the next code on my tag is QZT which is "P205/60R15 blackwall, steel belted (front); P215/60R15 blackwall, steel belted (rear). Again, seams like the two codes are in conflict.

Oh, did they really put two different size tires on the GT models from the factory (205 front, 215 rear)????

Yes... they did come from the factory with the 205's on the front and the 215's on the back. As for the THM125C, that's the actual name of the transmission... all automatic Fieros came with the THM125C.

Auto Trans aways have Two RPO numbers. See cave, gear ratio.

But note... Some RPO no's can change every model year or three. What year(s) the RPO site? It doesn't say.

Spring are in my cave... RPO list in options

Yeah, I figured a lot of these RPO's changed on a year by year basis, so trying to get all the codes figured out (with the available on-line resources) has been interesting to say the least because the lists are not all the same. And as you've pointed out, they don't say what year they're based off....

The Fiero RPO codes are on a tag attached to the Drivers side inner fender... open the hood and look at the inner fender near the brake master cylinder.
