I found a Pontiac radio today on Craigslist but the guy didn't know what year car it is from or even if it works. It was practically free so I picked it anyways. I would like to bench test it to see if it works. My problem is that it does not have a pigtail. Does anybody have a map of the pins showing what they are? Thanks in advance! Here are a couple of pics of it.

I have that radio, also, but the wiring didn't match. Let me know how you installed yours.

You can get an adapter to put that radio in a Fiero from replacementradios.com or on Ebay. It won't plug up directly.

What about it didn't match? I've hooked up a half dozen or so radios from that era and never ran into one that didn't match.

The only thing is some use a second connector for the steering wheel controls.

Somewhere around 1989 GM started using a different plug on SOME radios. The 1991 Deville radio I installed in my 89 GMC truck was the same except for the plugs and the little Caddie stuff on the knobs. It also worked all the time. The older GMC radio was a some times radio. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. I purchased the adapter off of E-Bay for a few $s and have been using it since last May.

The 1999 Chevy truck CD radio I had in my Silver 86 coupe used that same adapter.

Its called a 20 pin radio-12 pin car adapter.

Thanks again for the info guys. I wish I could just use an adapter to hook it up but the previous owner of the car cut the car's harness to install some junk cd player. I will probably try to track down a pigtail or purchase a new reverse harness to install it. Is this the right harness? http://www.scosche.com/prod...D2/158/productID/263

I just ended up running by the salvage yard and picking up a connector out of a Grand Am. I installed the radio today and it works great. Thanks again for the help everyone!
