I found on ebay item # 25037293175.. The seller says it is a Getrag 5 speed GM number 10235022 (on tag). "This appears to look like the Muncie 282 5sp that was used in the 80's and 90's by GM, but we have no information, these are being blown out at a cheap price for parts or whatever. THERE IS A TAG WITH THE NUMBER 10235022 on all of them."

I was wondering if this will work with my 3800 s/c swap. I have an 84 SE with a 4 speed in there right now. I know I will have to get a new shifter, cluch cable and shifter cable. Is this worth it or will it be a major pain to do??? Or should I try to find a 85 or up 4 speed tranmission?

thanks
.

Here ya go: LINK

That transmission will need several mods to work in a Fiero. First of all, the bellhousing has a different bolt pattern (looks like the Quad4 pattern?). Second of all, it has the magnetic speed sensor. The Fiero speed sensor is gear-driven. So you'll need a converter. Third of all is the internal slave cylinder. I believe Rodney Dickman sells an adapter that allows you to use a Fiero slave cylinder on that transmission. And finally, if it is a Quad4 transmission, then it's geared for a high-revving engine.

ive talked to bluementhal out here a while back about these. the guy said it wont bolt up to any gm engine, different pattern or something. but the internals can be used to rebuild a 282 with.
