Hi All,

I just bought an 84 Fiero and it idles really poorly until it warms up. I've been searching the forum for possible causes. One thing I want to take care of right away is the fact that there is no Heat Riser tube (preheat hose?) from the exhaust to the air intake.

I can't find a new one. If anyone has made their own, can you tell me what you made it from and where I can get the necessary material/hose?

Thanks,
Bob

There must be a gazillion used ones available for next to nothing. Ask for one in the Mall here.

Thanks for the idea. I will probably go that root, if I can't pick up something at Autozone to make one from. I'm hoping to get this done sooner, rather than wait for a Mall transaction/shipping.

Heat riser tube should be common in auto parts stores, just get the right diameter. Also, all of the iron duke motors should use the same size so wrecking yards should have plenty.

JazzMan,

Thank you. I picked up a hose (1.5" X 18") and a couple of clamps at the parts store after work. The hose fit perfect.
