So I have been trying to drive the car more even though I'm still having the occational no start.

With all this weird GA weather, the other day I actually had to use my defroster. Well I turned it on and got a face full of smoke. It smelled like burning leaves. I was not really sure what to search on as I don't know truely what is causing it.

History:
This happened once before. The first time it happened, I cut the car off and checked everything, but found no fire anywhere. Since then I used the defroster and had no issues. I assumed it was because the car had sat for 10 years in who knows what conditions and then sat at my Mom's under some trees for a bit. I figured I got some leaves somewhere in the cowl and they may have gotten sucked into the air system. So when I had the windshield replaced I cleaned the cowl out really well and thought I had it fixed. Since then the car has been garaged.

So it blew my mind when it happened again. I thought I cleaned all the old leaves and crud out. Is there somewhere I might have missed?

FIX THIS NOW!!!!

Your car will burn to the ground if you don't clean out the vents. Under the hood there is a small triangular shaped opening that has the fan speed resistor. Leaves get in there and it WILL burn if it's not cleaned out.

I've had flames shooting out of mine and I just happened to have a fire extinguisher handy, (doesn't everyone?)

What he said. It *might* be a mouse nest, don't be too surprised if you discover a (hopefully deceased) unauthorized passenger.

Blower resistor pack. Remove two 7mm screws holding it in place, then clean out the leaves inside. Use a shop vac and form your hand over the end of the nozzle to maximize vacuum at the opening.
