Looking for opinions on Vinyl dye, mainly what have you guys used, how did/does it look, where you happy with the results right afterward, 6 months later, 1 year later... ETC....
tryin to dye some ugly green vynil black. I am planning on using SME (IIRC) which is hear is a GREAT dye. I do not want to use a "paint" nothing that fills in the vinyl texture, just actually changes the color...

I was also considering this http://www.autogeek.net/convertible-top-dye.html but i am not sure if that would work very well...

If I'm not mistaken, seat belts are made from polyester webbing, so you would be better off looking for a method to dye this type of material. I don't know how dyeing will affect the webbing's properties, so you might want to research that too.
Here is one link I found on dyeing polyester. http://www.pburch.net/dyeing/dispersedye.shtml

I will probably just tryo to find black seatbelts as i know black interior was a factory option on the particular car i am doing.

I am mainly just looking for something that will do the door panels, dash, and trim. I will be buying black carpet and seatbelts...

Mar Hyde is the best if you can find any. SEM is next. Seat belts are nylon or nylon composite/ polyester. It wont dye, you might get a slight tint, but no color change.
