I recently had a new (+) battery cable put on my 85SE. When the battery cable to the starter was connected to the battery, nothing happened as i would suspect. But when I connected the #10 wire going to the junction box by the battery, I got sparks and heard clicking (?). Next thing you know, it won't start and i found that the 10 amp fuse for the fuel pump / oil pressure relay is blown. replace the fuse and it starts right up (!).

Anybody think the relay might be bad and should be replaced ? Isn't it on the firewall in the engine compartment directly behind where the driver sits ?

Keep your eye on it for a few days to see if there is a drain on the battery
