Does anyone have pics of what a backlit 85 mph speedo looks like? I'm trying to find one, and I may have in a local salvage yard. I'd just like to see one (or several) example(s) be for I buy it.
Thanks in advance for the help guys.

You can usually ind backlight 85 speedos in 85 gt and the 86/87 se. but most 86/87 se had the 120 mph speedo.-B-
Wrong, V6 se's had 85mph, only fastback GT's and the formula, had 120's all 4 cyl cars were front lit 85 GT was front lit but looked more like the style of the backlit

The backlit 85 speedo (I've got two or three of them now) looks just like the 120 speedo except the numbers only go to 85. Other than the dial calibration and a component on the circuit board they're identical.
Some people prefer the 85 speedo because it spreads the numbers out better; you don't exceed 85 very often, do you?
Me, I prefer the 120 - it's more "appropriate" for a sports car.

them are 85GT gauges and idont think there back lit i think they were front lit just like all the 4 cyl's
here is V6 backlit (86SE replaced with 120 backlit 85mph from an 86se NOTE THE DIFFERANCE Backlit gauges have lighter needels because light transfers through them, the 4 cyl gauges and theALL 85's are front or "side" lit, and there is no light transfer through the needle's so they are painted a rark solid orange

No, you are all wrong. The pic I posted is backlit. What difference do you speak of Rich? The look exactly the same except for the oil guage in mine. I cant remember what they came out of but trust me, its backlit. Has noone here seen a frontlit. They have a totally different look with different text. Follow the link below to a frontlit speedometer and tell me you cant see the difference.

Kohburn, when I finish my 3.4 I will have to drive up and show you that they are backlit. Yes, they do exsist! LOL
Joshua
would be the first ever backlit version of that guage i'll have ever seen - and i've been through many fieros - but you have it so it must be possible
edit: did a quick research the backlit version you show was only available in the 85gt - after that the rally guages were added and the tach was changed - so my bad

i know what a 4cyl gauge looks like, and it is not like the pics of the 85 V6 gauges you have pictured, that are in your 88 but the needels are the same as the 4 cyl because they are NOT backlit gauges, on your gauges: the wrighting /lettering is Painted on, the gauge faces are Metal just like the 4cyl ones (CORRECT?) and your orange on the redline of the tach is brighter than the backlit ones, because it is painted on metal UN-like the backlit ones the backlit ones shines through the gauge and the gauge face is plastic im not mad and im not trying to argue, but im 100% positive that your gauges are from a 85 V6 car and backlit gauges WERE NOT OFFERED UNTIL 86

here is a backlit tach the 2 Pcs of clear plastic that are hanging down sit right close to a bulb and the light shined through that transfering the light to the SEE Through gauge face lighting it up, hints the term Back lit
