I was interested in nowing how much these engines wiegh so i can figure out the power wieght ratio differense. thanx for all help

I want to think I read somewhere on here that there was a difference of about 75# between the 4 and 6 though I could be mistaken.

I believe I remember the Quad 4 being somewhere around 60 pounds lighter than a Iron Duke 2.5 which is about 60 lbs lighter then the 2.8 V6.

Not to hijack, but *OUCH*! The 3.4L DOHC weighs almost 500 Lbs? I know those cam carriers are heavy, but are they THAT heavy?

I can't see it being that heavy - the block is basicly the same as the 2.8 -- 2.8 heads are cast iron dohc are aluminum.. -- i dragged the dohc up onto my patio by myself and I'm no beefy guy..maybe I can find a scale to hang the engine from an engine hoist

Aw, cumon you guys... There must be someone out there who has actually weighed the Quad 4.
Even if it has been weighed with the flywheel, clutch, and trans attached, the information wiould be helpful.
