hey guys i know weve been over this before but... my idle is at 2 grand and is slow to come down ever since i replaced the upper plunum and i think it was beofre that but i thought i had it fixed. Took off the plunum today and found my egr tubewas majorly cracked on the egr side so i jbwelded it for 6 hours. I think the jb wled is holding but still... 2 grand idle and slow to come down. Maybe its not, or maybe i just fixed a problem that ocuured as i took the plenum off?? and the major problem is still there? i though i looked at the vaccum lines but...i dont know where the brake booster one is. Should i reset my ecm now that ive patched the tube? coule i replace the tube with felexble pipe/rubber / something from an exaust shop by cutting off the two ends and claming it together? Will a junkyard one be any better? will i ever i dle low again? how big a vuaum leaks does it ahve to be for it toidle that high all the time?
maybe i crACKED THE egr in anouther place when i was putting it in? HELP! im tried of everyone asking " why does your car idle so high?" leave me alone i think ALSO my check engine light doesnt come on and its not the bulb or socket ive changed them out many times with known goods and it used to work it just doesnt now. My tempurachere gauge always reads 50 degrees low no matter what temp sensor i have in the car ive tried 2. both witht the same result. the wirring appears to be good be cuase it pegs when grounded and the need sets itself to 100 before i start the car. I whitefaced the gauges so i took the needs out and reset them to defualt with engine cold positions. scan tool say ecm reads 185 degress when warmed up (180 degree t stat) HELP~! oh also wireing for oil presuure gauges doesnt seem to work how do i check this!

Oh I;ve been here on this one...mine was loose bolts going down into the lower plenum. And then I was still a tad high,make sure your thermostat is in.yeah it makes a high rpm if the engine thinks its too cold. And even then,pry that little metal plug out of the TBI unit and get your screwdriver and turn that puppy back ....hope some of this sheds light.

what metal plug? Also bump on all my othere problems... i think those screws are tight but i culd take it off cagina and reseal...

Go to the wrecking yard and get a used one,a lot less head achs this way.Some EGR valvs have a washer (1) at the base and must be reinserted.Finaly disconect the batery for a few hours(not sure how long?) to reset the computer.Also try cleaning the cold start valve (senser) attached to the air cleaner (or replace).

few hours, my manual says at least 20 seconds
