the sunroof weatherstrip is removed and replaced from the outside. When you remove the old one you will see how to install the new one.....it fits into a channel on each side of the weatherstrip. I always use a thin bead of silicone to seal it in place and more than likely the one on your car now has been treated the same way.
By the way, there is a front and back so make sure you put it on the right way!

sjp777, the cheapest place to buy a seal is at gmpartsdirect.com
I just ordered one through a GM dealership our club has a discount with and its about the same price.
One question, did you check to make sure your drain holes are open?
I just drilled 4 holes in my '84 and it seems to funnel the water away well. Your drain holes should be visible at the inside or center of the corners, just pull back the seal and check to see if they're plugged.
If they are plugged claen em out with a small piece of wire. I poured water in my newly drilled holes and it ran out on the ground by the rear edge of the door underneath.

Hartz, the part number for the sunroof weather strip is #20528472.
Anybody eles who has water leak problems, I drilled (4) four drain holes in my sunroof on Saturday morning.
I did it the same as on my "86.
Sunday we had 1" of rain at our place. Between siting in the rain and driving most of Sunday I'm happy to say not a drop of water, dry as a bone, water tight as a frog's... well you get the idea, no water in the car from the sunroof.
If I can get rid of the wind whistle first I may not replace the weather strip.

Cool. Thanks for the PN. Where did you drill these drain holes? My '84 doesn't seem to have any. Maybe a dumb question, but where does the water go if you drill these holes? Any potential problems?
The water drains down between the roof panel and the space frame. This is not a dry place anyway and in the later fieros the factory drilled the holes. Most all cars with sunroofs or t-tops leak, and have drains,

I installed a roof panel and sunroof from a parted out Fiero since mine didn't come with one. I was worried about it leaking so I used a lot of black RTV silicone around the opening when I installed, including under the weatherstrip. Seems like I must have plugged the drain wholes and created my own problem.
Hartz, I drilled the drain holes on the opening side of the seal not on the roof side. (hope that is plain enough)
I drilled the holes in the corners. If you pull the seal back at the corner you can see the metal channels the seal sits in.
I used as I recall a 7/32" drill bit and drilled close to the seal where it's flat. Don't press down on the drill hard, let the weight of the drill do the work, use a sharp bit. When you get through the fiberglass you have about 1/4"? to the metal under roof. You don't want to drill through that.
I used a 1/8" bit by hand spinning it with my fingers to clean the fibers from the bottom edge of the hole. If you have access to someones '86 or newer with a sunroof look at the holes there first if you're not sure. Good luck.
I'm glad I did it, it's raining here again and my garage is full of two non-running Fieros.
