Brought the car in for some fron shock replacement, and while it was up on the rack, took the opportunity to crawl around underneath the car etc........discovered that my front energy absorber is in two pieces. The right side is just kind of flopping about. Course that would explain the fine cracks in the paint (not the bumper) just in the clearcloat. These are pretty interchangeable from year to year? and does anyone know roughly how much they have paid for em.

they are all the same from year to year. you just need the right one for the nose on the car. shouldn't cost much used. Might even can get them new. some thing you can get some you can't always worth a call.

My 88 coupe had the same problem. It was wrecked on passenger side, and the energy absorber broke off on that side too. The way I could tell was I put my hand into the bumper above the turn signals, and could move the absorber around freely. Well, an hours worth of work, and a good one from a 84 parts car, it attached perfectly and holds the aero fascia securely. It's an easy fix! Have fun!
