How to Replace Your V6 EGR Valve - Step by Step (Page 2/2)

Thanks for this write up. I now feel confident to replace mine.

However what about the EGR tube?

Any idea where its at and how to replace it?

Also before doing either of these should I disconnect my battery or does it not really matter?

The EGR tube is connected between the EGR mounting block at one end and the underside of the intake plenum at the other. If you have to replace the EGR tube, the hardest part (if I recall correctly) is to remove and bolt it back up to the underside of the plenum due to limited space. You can see the end of the tube that connects to the EGR mounting block in my last photo posted above. It's the part that disappears into the woven cloth heat wrap. Follow it from there on your own car to see where it connects to the plenum. There is a flange and two bolts at either end of the tube that hold it in place.

Edit to add: You don't need to disconnect the battery to do any of this.
